Apparently anti hunting activists are up in arms over an old picture of director Stephen Speilburg posing in front if a model of a dead triceratops. People think that this is real. People actually think that Speilburg hunts extinct animals for sport. These people vote. I have lost all faith in humanity.
"Some animal activists expressed their anger at the "Jurassic Park" director after Jay Branscomb posted a photo of Spielberg with a prop from the 1993 film."
"Disgraceful photo of recreational hunter happily posing next to a Triceratops he just slaughtered. Please share so the world can name and shame this despicable man," he wrote.
He's got the money.....maybe he went back in time and killed that triceratops.
Poor triceratops ðŸ˜

I'm sorry, but I have to neg that. That was a blatant insult at democrats. We want gun control, and what you're saying is that all these people are idiots. Am I correct in thinking this is a logical assumption?

Its also an idiotic comment. I want gun control, but A) gun control isnt the sane thing as takig guns away conpletely and B) most people who support gun control realize the importance of hunting for conservation and dont want to take away hunting rifles, rather handguns and automatic/semiautomatic rifles

Let's do away with all guns, in the world. Burn them or something.... And then ALL CARRY BOWS!!!!!!!!!! And SWORDS!!!!!
This is on topic with the OP.
Do people not realize its a dinasaur (as doctors DNA said) that died off millions of years ago?

and in that context "gun control" meant no guns at all. those idiots. and about the hunting, i can provide you a link to a discussion where people refused hard evidence of how hunting helped conservation.
I can certainly provide evidence where anti-control people were petty and refused to provide evidence. That doesn't mean everybody's like that.
Can we not turn this into a fun control discussion? For fear of Piotr-daddy?

Also, i wasn't trying to turn it into a discussion about guns. It feels like other people are headed in that direction, and i just followed their lead.
I mean you did bring up gun control first, albeit to a minor extent. Though the democrat comment was forced upon you and I don't think that was very fair.
Hey, that's just how I took it. I apologize.

This quote was from the person who originally spread the picture around. It was meant to be satirical...
and I realize this. What confounds me is the number of people who commented on that photo with the common sense level of a small potato.
Also: this was meant to be a conversation about lack of common sense, not gun control. It never ceases to amuse...
I'm sorry but as a felon for a non violent victimless crime, it makes no sense why I shouldn't be able to have a gun to protect myself and my family.
I understand a violent crime, but if I'm convicted of a crime that essentially isn't a crime according to ultimate law (possession of cannabis for inquiring minds) why should it be so penalized?
Quote from: Taysby on July 13, 2014, 10:44:48 PM
I actually think we aren't losing any common sense. But with the internet, the people without it are being seen a lot more often.

most of the time, if you're a felon it means you have crimanal tendancys. it's not always that way, but most of the time that's the way it is.
You're as blind as ray Charles, at least he listened to important information rather than doing what was told.

If you want to work it out so things like what you did are ok depending on the circumstances, fine.
If you can prove me wrong about most felons have criminal tendancy's i'm all ears to it.
You're the one who made the claim. Burden of proof lies on you my friend.

I concur.
The only issue I see is that the idiots will end up sueing people for not telling them it was hot or not telling them it could poison you. Then we'll have that McDonald's situation from a couple years ago all over again
Because the law is totally logical.
Go sit In court for a few days in a large city and hear of all the BS cases given out that send people into debt and jail.
Taysby, I am a registered felon. Due to me growing medicine for cancer patients here in California. Was that fair? No. And now I have to try and improve my life with that fog hanging around. Think before you speak, makes you look idiotic.
Small claims court is civil court, not traffic court where you hear countless stories of people who paid the fine they were sent, thought they were done and then because they didnt Goto court; now they owe at least $1000?
You think that's legitimate process?
It's called robbing the people
Quote from: Taysby on July 16, 2014, 03:13:26 PM
I'm pretty sure felonies aren't bs stuff. I have sat in small claims court, and what puts people in debt/jail is just not showing up.
Felonies are mainly bullshit tbh. Possession of weed in many states is a felony.
Please articulate properly on how marijuana should be considered a felony; please equate possession of marijuana to rape or murder
Quote from: bravado883 on July 16, 2014, 04:29:42 PM
I think you guys are arguing about two different things. Taysby is not being ignorant saying, in general, people who commit crimes are more likely to commit other crimes. Take possession/distribution since that seems to be the example of choice. People who sell drugs and are caught are still HIGHLY likely to attempt to sell them again after the end of whatever punishment they receive. This is a statistical fact that anyone can look up anywhere. And to the people who went to court and watched cases; how many repeat offenders were there? TONS would be my bet. I worked in a courthouse for several years, it is what it is.
On the other side of the argument, simply the fact that someone commits ANY felony is no real indicator that that person would commit a violent offense. Many felonies are "victimless" crimes; whether a conviction for one of these offenses warrants being barred from possession of a firearm is a whole different, much more complicated discussion. My opinion is no. Should someone convicted of a VIOLENT offense be allowed to later have a firearm? My opinion is no.
Regarding "extenuating circumstances," the law does in fact take these things into account, although typically only in sentencing. Unfortunately, it would be nigh impossible to have a system of law governed by a moral compass, because people have different morals. While I think a poor person stealing to feed their family is less morally reprehensible than someone who does it for fun or greed, how do you codify that in a consistent way? What about the property's true owner, shouldn't they get something? From who? The law is the way it is for a reason. It's FAR from perfect, but while I think some people fall through the cracks and get screwed over unfairly, I also think people in our legal system get, for the most part, what they deserve.
I agree with most of what you said, but money makes your defense a lot better. Person a has a public defender yep he's pretty much convicted. Person b has a lawyer like Johnny Cochran he gets off with a slap on the hand.
This is such a slippery topic because there are so many variables to take into account. That is why I am trying to stay on the sidelines.
Then explain this to me taysby. http://newsfeed.time.com/2013/12/12/the-affluenza-defense-judge-rules-rich-kids-rich-kid-ness-makes-him-not-liable-for-deadly-drunk-driving-accident/
A high paid lawyer has one case with a team working for him. A public defender is one person who has several cases at one time.

So you
Illegally grew marajuana
Illegally distributed it
Claimed it was to help cancer patients (recent studies have shown it barely helps at all and the carcinogens completely negate that benefit. And if you turned it Ito an oil, there are many times where it could become impure which is bad, for little to no benefit)
All the while, knowing it's illegal and trying to hide it
Does that sound right? If it does, I personally feel like you don't have that big of a respect for the law and frankly deserved it, despite your intentions to help them. Your time and money would have been better served donating money to them to help pay for bills and getting them better care.
You are an ignorant little child. I HELPED these people at my own cost. Never charged them a cent. And cannabis has more studies showing it helping seizures and cancer than aspirin does for headaches. How dare you insult the good I did and still do for children an adults health. And I live in California , I am legally entitled to grow and GIVE. My product away. Now shut your arrogant moronic mouth taysby when it comes to cannabis, because you have no idea of what the field is actually doing for people.
No recent studies are showing more positives for it. Get on Internet that isn't censored by mommy and daddy and maybe you could see the real studies that have been done since the thirties. And me getting charged had to do with processing it to an oil, which helped four children's seizures drop to once a month. Also has been diminishing a few cancerous tumors. Again, you know 0 of the subject besides your closed off web access. Look for granny storm crows canna studies list. Has every study good or bad done since its inception. Far far more positive, than not. Educated yourself before someone like me destroys what you think is the truth. Been in the medical cannabis field for 10 years little boy.
Know what? I'm more mature than this, taysby live in the fake world you do, it suits you. I will e blocking you so I don't have to deal with your ignorance any longer here. But know you need to read up on the real world, you are far removed from it, it would seem.

They're too far to the right. I'm up at the top. They have good ideas, but sometimes take them too far. Like that one fox news guyf (forgot his name) I listed to a couple of his interviews. He wouldn't let the other person talk nor would he listen to what he was saying. I choose who i listen to and who I don't and always take it with a grain of salt.
Fox News has a goyf anchor? That explains a lot about their war programming.
