You might need something to protect the laboratory maniac from removal, since everyone is drawing so much of their deck they will find lots of removal to kill it.

If he was using big Jace, why not just mill the opponent? As for the deck, WAY too slow. You have no way of interacting with Opp before turn 5 except the Kami. A lot of decks can kill you by then. Other than that, it doesn't do anything. You're really just hoping to take enough extra turns to mill yourself, which seems bad if they're running counterspells or hand disruption.
Also, {{Slaughter Games}} out of the board means you lose...
Quote from: ConanEdo on December 29, 2013, 01:45:51 PMDefinitely going to add that.Quote from: Spencer Addington on December 29, 2013, 01:42:19 PMIn that case, {{Panoptic Mirror}}Quote from: ConanEdo on December 29, 2013, 01:39:31 PMIt's not meant to be competitive, just fun. :)

Quote from: Taysby on December 29, 2013, 04:59:41 PMThat's where I got the idea. It's a really fun deck.
I played against this same thing, but with some counters with my tron deck and it won. Those counters man...
Quote from: abstractApathist on January 01, 2014, 03:33:38 PMI'll definitely add it. The deck gets rolling turn 4-6 more often than not.
I've played against this kind of deck before and been surprised at how well it works. Those who say this is too slow miss the fact that the ability to make your opponent skip turn four/five with {cryptic command} actually makes this deck viable. Baby Jace is a ton better than {Jace Memory Adept}. The only thing you're missing is a one-of {Elixir of immortality} in case they try to kill your maniac during your upkeep.

How many laboratory maniac should I have? 4 is too many, but if I have too few, it's at the bottom of my deck and I could accidentally deck myself.
Quote from: Spencer Addington on January 14, 2014, 11:08:03 PMSince you can't play her until third turn anyway and you would usually rather be playing {rites of flourishing} or another {howling mine} then, I'm not sure how much she'll do for you. You won't need any extra mana once you've combo'd off and she doesn't help you get there, so i wouldn't run her.
I put in Azusa.

Quote from: Spencer Addington on January 14, 2014, 11:15:25 PMWow, did I miss the point or what? Sorry about that... Since she lets you combo off turn 4, running her speeds up the deck significantly. 2 or 3 sounds about right since it means you'll see her 1/3 or 1/2 games respectively.Quote from: abstractApathist on January 14, 2014, 11:12:02 PMShe helps me put the extra turns out faster.Quote from: Spencer Addington on January 14, 2014, 11:08:03 PMSince you can't play her until third turn anyway and you would usually rather be playing {rites of flourishing} or another {howling mine} then, I'm not sure how much she'll do for you. I see your point. I'll probably take her out.
