Apple just approved the new iMtG II (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/imtg-ii/id736075015?mt=8&uo=4&at=10l74t) app and you should be able to find it in your nearest App Store ;)
It is free with In App Purchases, same as old iMtG.
The old iMtG has been with us for almost three years and is a mature, complete app. You can keep and use old iMtG which will be supported with bug fixes and database updates.
You can transfer your decks and binders between iMtG and iMtG II via Dropbox backup and restore in Settings & Tools -> Tools.
Very smooth, much appreciated :)

Thanks, but I've found out that I need some other adult to be my boss, I'm too lazy on my own ;)

What's new about it?

What's new about it?
Magic Binders: you can see it in list, flow and grid mode now, in 4.6.2 only in grid.
Scanning UI is streamlined across the app.
You can sort decks.
Faster editing in list view mode in Deck Builder.
A lot of things changed under the hood, paving way for new features.

Delight, in this case.
Will we need to re purchase all the extras for iMTG II?

No, it is voluntary.
Copy that. I just purchased all features again. Love the new look of the app. Looks good with iOS 7. Can't wait to explore the new features. You the man Piotr.
Will it bring BJ back?

Is "The Gathering" still the same as this one? Or is it a whole new forum board?

It's the same. I'm actually posting this from iMtG 2.

Me II
I'm finding imtg 2 incredibly laggy on iPad 2. For example It starts searching as soon as you tap e.g. A colour in the filter box, and just stops responding until it has worked that out, then you can tap the next colour and off it goes again... Then comes back... It's slow downloading TCG card info, where if I drop out to Safari I can get it on tcgplayer in seconds. When viewing large numbers of cards in flow mode, the scroll just hangs up completely while it goes to get prices and images for cards instead of it running in the background.
Is there tweaking still to do, or is this final?
If it's anything like the first one. Imtg2 will be on a continuous tweek until imtg3. So keep your suggestions and. Problems coming and I'm sure Piotr will try to get to them in his order of priorities
Will iMtG continue to be supported in terms of new features, or just bug fixes and db updates? What are the benefits of going from the old to the new?
I think you should make it to when you log onto iMTG 2 all of your purchases and decks and info transfer over.
Only if they but you a 12 pack though. Lol (meant for Piotr)
So don't buy it. Is iMtG not working anymore? It is, so buzz off.
Actually, yes, you are running outdated version of iOS which is no longer able to run latest iMtG which is currently in the App Store, yes or no?
I'm with Kanga. It takes a good 3-7 seconds to type a single letter or load anything, and mine is fully up to date.
I also have this problem. When I try to type a card name, I type it out on my phone, the. Have to wait a few seconds for it to update letter by letter. Then it sits around for another few seconds. And finally, after 5-15 seconds, I can click on the intended card.
Same. Has been this way for a long while.
I have an ipad 2, on latest version of iOS 7 and never had the first iMTG, I paid for the extra features and have been disappointed with the app. It's slow, the UI is clunky, I can't see all the card faces in my deck on one screen, the camera capture and card ID does not work, and it's generally not pleasant to use. I really wanted it to be.
Is version one no longer going to have updates?

iMtG gets database updates together with iMtG II, unless your version is older than 4.4.0.
Why does there have to be a new app? Why not just update the old one?
New app allows to explore new architecture/coding. New features will be good as app versions will be developed. It also helps developer and team to explore these options with our support.
I have the same problem. OS is up to date. Running iPad2. Running IMTg1. It takes a few seconds for the card your entering to come up. I just keep typing it out and wait for delay. Same applies with IPod 4th gen. Delay is longer though.
Could this be because they are linked to magic.info? The delay in time, as a result from the coding, telling it to retrieve each image. Maybe you could have all cards on local server. This could speed up opening time of each image. Just a thought. I don't know how you have it set up.
Nope, database is local as far as I know since it works on my iPod without wifi. Just very slowly.
Ok. I know that it's cached on device for offline use. I was talking about : pricing pulled from TCG and images from Magic.info. All that is fed thru this apps server, Imtg server. I've worked with different architectures and sometimes it's just slow due to where the information is stored, how it's stored, and where it's archiving from.
Well I'm back now thy I have an I-device, if that means anything to you or if you remember me. Been gone for a looooong time. Left a little after the jester
