Looking to start an EDH deck as {Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord} as my commander. I feel he has potential and would love to maximize on it.
Any suggestions as to staples would be great! The land part is fairly easy enough, unless there's some wacky land that would be perfect with him or his meta.
I have a pretty set idea on what I want to focus around, but brainstorming with you guys is my ultimate goal!
Obviously dredge the crap outta this deck lol

So what kind of awesomeness must I absolutely have?
He goes quite nicely with {Savra, Queen of the Golgari} and {Penumbra Wurm} off top of my head.

{Sorin Markov} just because of that middle ability in EDH.
I would say run lots of Tutors. Perhaps Eldrazi as well? They could be amazing to sac, then tutor again

Savra + {Grave-Shell Scarab} is a pretty fun way to get cards and lock up the board a bit.

And of course, my two favorite Golgari critters, {Doomgape} and {Gleancrawler}!
Edit: oh, and tutors! You're in black, so stuff those tutors in there!
{Sign in blood} for the dredge? Also {grisly salvage}, {commune with the gods} and {mulch} to get your dredge in the graveyard early. Grisly and mulch are awesome for searching lands too.

Not a bad card. This is an amazing card!!
{Wreath of Geists} doubles his ability, and all dredgers are insane in this deck. You'll also want a nice selection of cards with flashback such as {Gnaw to the Bone} and {Army of the Damned}. {Creeping Renaissance} can help you recover anything you need amd restock your removal, and {Varolz, the Scar-Striped} can take over if your commander gets tucked.
Are tere any more cards I could use that are like {Jarad's Orders} and {Grisly Salvage}?
{Entomb} and {Buried Alive} come to mind.
{Mulch} and {Commune with the Gods} as well, as Spencer mentioned, are very similar to Grisly Salvage.

{golgari thug} {harvester of souls} {Undercity Informer} have some nice synergy as long as you've got the mana. Self mill yourself for days ;)

All are great suggestions, but I'm still missing quite a bit? Does anyone know any good combos for this type of deck?
I don't think {green sun zenith} is banned in EDH. That would be an awesome tutor for ya. {decree of pain}, {craterhoof behemoth} that's what I think would be some good additions as well.
{Spider Spawning} is amazing.
{Phyrexian Altar} + {Gravecrawler} + {Noxious Ghoul} is good too.
I have changed my deck so many times bumping my old build might be pointless so once I update it I'll post again.

Tutor for that, play it when low to get big mamba jambas out!
Would work well with {forbidden orchard} so you can make sure an opponent has 3 creatures so {defence of the heart} resolves...

My friend plays that combo lol before any of us realized why he played the orchard we were like yay free tokens lol
On the top of the thread is a community deck list. I know theres a few jarad lists you should go check them out to give you ideas.
