Title: OP card?
Post by: Charbelchers rage on August 13, 2013, 11:04:43 PM
And you thought slivers were bad...
{silence}
Well you just broke a lot of decks...
Also why doesn't red have ANY enchantment removal?

Red is more focused on physical removal, such as destroying artifacts. It just kind of ignores enchantments.

I think he meant {silence} on {elite arcanist}. No more game for you.  Get another {elite arcanist} with {fog} on it.  Don't have a kill spell in your hand?  Good game.
that only keeps them from casting spells on your turn and hitting you with combat damage on your turn, on their turn, the effects wear off.

It's instant speed. You can do it on their turn.

Huh, at my FNM they always say you can tap at instant speed. Darn.

-_- you can only tap him during your turn.

You can tap him as a response to things on their turn. Also instead of fog pay no heed.

112.3b (http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?action=imtg;area=rule;number=112.3b): Activated abilities have a cost and an effect. They are written as "[Cost]: [Effect.] [Activation instructions (if any).]" A player may activate such an ability whenever he or she has priority. Doing so puts it on the stack, where it remains until it's countered, it resolves, or it otherwise leaves the stack. See rule 602, "Activating Activated Abilities."

Or ice do you mean that if you use him on your turn you can't again because he's already tapped?

Tapping for an ability CAN be used as an instant

Also you can activate both at the end of their untap step, they last the entire turn

If this is what you consider OP then you might want to work on valuing instants and removal. A {searing spear} or {ulvenwald tracker} fixxes this issue.

{silence}
Well you just broke a lot of decks...
Also why doesn't red have ANY enchantment removal?
red doesn't have enchantment removal because red cant deal with things that aren't tangible. Red understands bashing and smashing things, but it can't think things through enough to find a way to smash enchantments. Not to say red isn't smart, there are a lot of really emotional people that are brilliant people. Still, you can't break an enchantment by beating at it with a giant stick

Chandra destroyed a spirit (not tangible) WITHOUT a stick. She used fire. It was in "the purifying fire".

hmm...well, that was my understanding. And I guess a spirit is a physical manifestation of a dead persons soul?

And you forget, I think, the "Emotuon, passion, fire" part of red. Also in that book, these people were going to war with her kingdom to capture her, but she thought it through and turned herself in. So there's ONE person. 😉 Also, most of the Izzet and Boros..

Tell all that to head designer Mark Rosewater, because I was paraphrasing him

And I suppose not thinking things through, must mean they think with there emotions and don't like to go through long thought processes.

Hmm... A small portion of red thinks things through. But not much.

Also, Boros has white, and izzet has blue. Both plan and think things through

Although Boros is able to act quickly because of its red side...quick desisions...hmmm...
