I couldn't agree more, Mike. Going along the lines of comedians, I don't like Jeff Dunham at all. Everyone seems to think he's hilarious, but he just doesn't do it for me, I find the puppet thing more annoying than amusing. I also think FPS games are overrated, but I'm a sucker for storyline, and I have yet to come across one with a story good enough to keep me interested.
Jeff Dunham is a hack. Im not a fan of prop comedy at all.
To out my life on the line I'm gonna say Nuttella. The stuff is good, but not the mind blowing be-all end-all people make it out to be.

Bioshock 1?
As for overrated.... Song of fire and ice (Game of Thrones) read the first two books, started the third, set it down one day and never looked back.
I never played the first one, but I'll admit, Bioshock 2 did have an awesome story. I can't believe I forgot about that one! I'll correct my statement; VERY few have actually had a story decent enough to keep me interested.

I have to agree. I saw in another thread that someone said Nutella was better than peanut butter and a little piece of me died on the inside.
Im going to throw the Hunger Games books out there. I struggled through the first one (due to lack of interest, not because of reading skills) and had no desire to finish the other two. The whole time I was thinking "Battle Royale is SO MUCH better than this." The author of HG said she had never heard of Battle Royale beforehand, but im not buying it.

I agree on FPS games. Goldeneye (N64, not the Wii remake) was great. But mainly because I spent many, many nights staying up late, pounding Cokes and playing it with the bros, so it's a bit nostalgic for me.

A bunch of my friends were into Halo. I will say, it was pretty fun turning the gravity low and running around killing each other with gravity hammers. But when it comes down to it, if I'm going to play a game myself, you've got to give me a good story with characters I actually care about.
I can agree, but right now FPS is the gaming market right now. We need a REAL kingdom hearts game (in otherwords, not the DS kingdom hearts games.) but square Enix wants to make a new final fantasy game instead. They should just give up on the new final fantasy games, and just keep making remakes of final fantasy VII
Memes. They aren't funny. I actually find them to be rather dumb and annoying. If someone says "Hey, look what I found on membase!" I just walk away or start talking to someone else.
I don't understand why my little pony is so popular. My 4-year old niece won't watch it but my 24 year old brother loves it. Can anybody explain why people like such a simplistic show??

Ugh, thank you! Can't tell you how many people I know who think memes are the greatest thing ever and repeat them at every opportunity. Drives me crazy. It's not witty, funny, or clever.
As for the others mentioned... FPSs aren't typically the kind of game you play for story, they're more for the sake of PvP competition. Typically. I have recently started Bioshock Infinite, however, and holy crap...I'm only a few hours in, but the story is already completely enveloping and drawing me into the game big time.
As for Dane Cook, I saw one older stand up by him that was actually pretty funny. But everything else I've seen was just awful. It's like he took a career turn into garbage that made him bad at comedy but somehow made him famous. As for Dunham, I'm okay with him. It's different, sure, but he has some good material in there.

Im going to throw out there that bacon is pretty much not overrated at all. The amount of hype surrounding bacon is completely warranted.

Why is that? I thought it was great. You got to see the world through the eyes of the "monster" only to find out you were the most human thing left in the god awful Rapture (provided you chose the good path). I thought it was pretty touching, myself.

And I have to agree with Mike again. Bacon is not overrated at all. Great stuff there.
Memes for sure, I hate myself for chuckling at something when I know it will be drivin into the ground, beaten to a pulp, picked up by reddit, then beaten to an even finer near nonexistent pulp.
And on that note reddit. Nuff said.
Gun laws are overrated, criminals will still get guns illegally and honest people will still suffer. That being said while I believe the average person has the right to own an assault weapon, do I think it's neccesary or practical? Eh.
My little pony. You can not tell me you like this show because of its "good art style" or "morals". It was literally made as a last ditch effort to cash in on a 20some year old dead horse, pun intended. Then it somehow caught on and has spawned some of the most vile things I have ever seen. One word, clopping.
Adventure time. Don't get me wrong I honestly love adventure time. But is it getting a little overrated? Anything that makes it onto a tshirt and is sold at hot topic is in fact overrated yes.
Good thread, regained a little faith in humanity

While we can all probably agree with you that bacon is certainly not a healthy food, I must say that if bacon doesn't taste good you, you've been eating the wrong bacon! Like any other meat, it comes in many qualities and varieties, and some are way better than others. Plus you gotta cook it right - it amazes me how many 'breakfast' restaurants can't cook a good strip of bacon.
Speaking of bacon, I can't say enough good things about candied bacon. Bacon coated in sugar so that when cooked, the rendered fat mixes with it and turns the sugar into a crystal coating around it. It's a heart attack on a plate, sure, but you die happy. Soooo good.
As for my little pony, I'll admit I don't "get it." I know (in person) 4 guys who watch it. 1 is a father of a 4-year-old girl who occasionally watches with his daughter. He says "I wouldn't watch it on my own, but I'll admit its much more tolerable than a lot of horrible kids shows I have to sit through." I can understand that. 1 other is a huge troll - I'm not even sure watches it, he might just talk about it and use pony-related talk and merchandise simple because he knows it irritates people and gets a reaction. The last 2... Well, they're complete stoners who I'm not sure if I've ever seen not 'under the influence' of something or another. I think they just like the pretty colors and movement.
At school there was a team of students trying to get a recipe for chocolate covered bacon stuffed with peanut butter to work. It did to my great joy.

I'm a vegan. It isn't that bad if you give it an honest effort. Most people think they're going to hate missing their favorite meats. I got myself into it by doing "Weekend Veg". Basically I eat vegitarian all week, then I can eat as much meat as I wanted on weekends. Eventually I didn't even crave it anymore.
Also, I played tons and tons of Golden Eye when I was younger - don't have any idea why. I never really liked that game. All of my friends did, we would play for hours, I don't recall having a good time.
I think mtg is overrated.
Just kidding! :)
But in all seriousness social network sites are all overrated.
YOLO is the most overrated thing I've ever experienced, provided many people hate it though.
Lastly, football is overrated. In retrospect all I'm watching is two groups of people running into each other, some with such force to literally "break" their opponent. Protecting an oblong ball for what reason? Most sports confuse me, and people even slack off on work to watch these pointless events.
That's just my take.

Sports exist for a few reasons, albeit they arent very good ones:
1) to admire the physique of people we will never compare to
2) society flaunts sports as a manly past time
3) people are bored, and it at least gives people something to watch that they can follow and understand
Personally im beginning to love watching football basketball and lacrosse
Also hockey on occasion

Popcorn. I've always had an aversion to styrofoam (so very dry and squeaky😬) and one day I realized that popcorn reminds me of styrofoam packing beans with salt and butter. I haven't been able to enjoy fluffy exploded maize since.
Mike is spot on about bacon. Maybe I could have a snacky redemption if someone were to discover a way to bond popcorn with bacon. Heck, I might even eat styrofoam if it were layered between a few choice strips of hickory smoked bacon.

As long as you aren't talking about the old animated version of the Hobbit I agree :)
Man, I loved the Hobbit. Cinematically it was beautiful. I will say that even though the other two aren't out yet, spanning it over three movies is excessive.
When I say the hobbit I mean both. The new one, although beautiful, it was too hyped up for me. Although I will watch the rest of the series, I think that movie will always just be OK.

Which movie? The one from the 90's with Jack Nicklaus as Joker or the one from the 60's with Ceaser Romano as Joker?
SOME batman is overrated. The older movies I think were meh, the Dark Knight I really enjoyed (Heath Ledger really did a phenomenal job as the joker), but then the new one with Bane was another meh.
But of course the old series with Adam West was a classic. Pretty funny stuff. I laugh every time I see the .gif of him with the giant, oversized, round, cartoony bomb trying to find a safe place to let it detonate.

No way man. The Joker has always had a cartoony sensibility. Watch the cartoons with Mark Hamill as the Joker and the Adam West series. THATS the Joker. Ledger was great, don't get me wrong. But that was just a different take on it. Read The Kilking Joke by Alan Moore. Perfectly sums up the Joker in less than 100 pages.

I grew up on reruns of the Adam West Batman. It never occurred to me that it was supposed to be funny until recently. "Quick! Grab the Batpen!"
I really, really like how Nolan took Bane back to his roots. I was pissed when they made him a mindless thug in Batman and Robin.

But that was just a different take on it. Read The Kilking Joke by Alan Moore. Perfectly sums up the Joker in less than 100 pages.
ok. So what guild would you put the joker in?

Rakdos for sure. That part of your statement I agree with. I was disputing the fact that you said the Tim Burton Joker didnt have a Joker feel. My point was that's exactly how the Joker is supposed to act.
Joker always will have his sarcastic, and detached feeling of humor from the rest of the world. He doesn't really have a motive. That is a joker. Both the cartoon, and the dark knight movie had that.
One of my best friend hates how the bat won't kill. He feels that Batman is responsible for more deaths than any villain because he could have stopped all the killings by offing each of Arkham's baddies instead of interring them. I argue that by refusing to stoop to their level the bat has limited the villains' efforts to cause chaos. Batman has potentially saved far more lives than the deaths he allowed because society is safer and morally superior to a world with a Batman who will kill to preserve life...
That is, it would be if it were all real...
Which, I realize, it's not.
I could see Batman killing the Joker eventually. They're each others greatest enemy. Its gotta end one day.
That's the the thing about Batman. Its an institution. He's had so many different writers that its all canon, even if stories and backgrounds conflict.
This years Wrestlemania will go down as overrated garbage.

*ARKHAM CITY SPOILER ALERT*
He technically did kill the Joker. Batman had the cure and the Joker was telling him to give it to him, while he is hiding. He stabs him in an attempt to get the cure which is a liquid in a vial. Batman drops the vial on accident after being stabbed, and the vial shatters on the ground. Technically he did kill the Joker.
Now if you have played both Arkham Asylum, and Arkham City, you would have followed that completely. Now if you have replayed the jokers death scene over and over, you can swear that the joker's "lifeless body" is breathing. And in Harleys Revenge, it is also hinted that the Joker is still alive, but that isn't set in stone. Oh well, guess we can find out if and when they make another game.
And also those 2 games were AMAZING!!!

Some of them are really good, this year not so much. The main event was boring, they looked like they had no emotion out there.

That's a perfect example of what I was talking about. There's so many different storylines in the Gotham world that they all conflict due to having different writers and whatnot, yet they're all canon. In the Arkham games, he technically killed Joker, but in another comic book somewhere, Joker is still alive. Just like in Batman Beyond, Bruce Wayne delegates the role of Batman to a younger person, but in other stories, he's still Batman. Same characters, different stories and worlds. That's what I love about Batman.
Re batman: The Dark Knight with Heath Ledger as the Joker is the only good one of the series. I felt that series had the same beats each movie, just slowly more drawn out.
Karma is overrated.

in the batman movie that came out in the 80's (or is it 90's?) batman pushed someone down a hole in the floor. And he wrapped something around someone's leg who was trying to escape on a helicopter rope ladder to make them fall a long way as well. Then there's the old comics of batman were he did kill
Well those have been written out of Batman history by other writers. Which leads back to my original argument. Simply he has killed, and he hasn't killed.
So if the Tim Burton batman movie is not cannon (sense he shoved someone down a hole in the floor, thus killing them...that means the newer "dark knight" series is?
It is canon. Anything that DC condones and allows to be released (IE NOT fan fiction) would be official. Once again, same characters, different history and story.
Example: Joker's background has been explored a few times and its always something different depending on the writer. They're all correct. This was somewhat explained in the Killing Joke when he said "if im going to have a history, I prefer it to be multiple choice." I think that was just a cop out though.

Yes. My room mate can not drink water he has to have some thing with sugar in it.
When I was little I always loved water the only other thing that I would drink was root beer. But in high school I was a very bad mtn dew drinker (atleast 6 cans and 2 bottles a day) but it was because I loved the taste but now I rarely drink anything but water again.
I love certain sodas. But that is narrowed down the equivalent of 3.
Root Beer
Diet Dr. Pepper
Mountain Dew
The Doors, Sublime, and Bob Marley. Pretty much all the bands that every stoner from my high school obsessed over. Terrible.
Justin Beiber
One Direction
The list goes on with song artists...
