Biggest Disappointment
The Mars Volta Noctourniquet
Is it sad that I know none of the bands or albums on this list?
I wasn't feeling that new Converge. The opener made it seem like it was going to be a skramz record, but then it did a complete 180. Speaking of skramz, it makes me happy that Loma Prieta made the list. Excellent. I think Noctourniquet is the best thing Volta done since Amputechture. Pretty solid list overall.
Also, COKE BUST and WEEKEND NACHOS!!! Awesome bands. Awesome dudes.
I encourage other members to make their own list, or lemme know about something I may have missed. I like ambient black metal, screamo, instrumental rock and electronic music like chillwave, dubstep, progressive house.

Hahaha I said that for the first half of the list and then I noticed some. What type of music do these fall under? Or is it all music?

It's every album that I listened to this year.
So it's only albums from 2012, yes? Hmmmm, I'll get my list together, although this year was mighty disappointing for me.
Saw the Melvin's Lite on their 51 city tour. Awesome live show.

Seen them a few times, always something new. Once Cody and Jared from Big Business joined they've been releasing amazing stuff.
Is it bad that i only know 2?
I only know OFWGKTA :P
Oh, and Smashing Pumpkins

No it's not sad. Out of that whole list the only bands I know are deftones and smashing pumpkins
Where would you suggest posting our own lists at? Here, or a seperate thread?
Here is probably good. Wouldn't want to flood the main board with Album lists. I'll rename this.
Word! Too much good stuff came out this year for me to narrow it down to ten, so here's my top 12.
1 MewithoutYou - Ten Stories
2 The Chariot - One Wing.
3 Aesop Rock - Skelethon
4 Killing Joke - MMXXII
5 Blaqk Audio - Bright Black Heaven
6 The Hives - Lex Hives
7 Wacka Flocka Flame - Triple F Life: Friends, Fans, and Family
8 Ceremony - Zoo
9 With Knives - Schadenfreude
10 El-P - Cancer 4 Cure
11 Lana Del Rey - Lana Del Rey
12 Minus the Bear - Infinity Overhead
Let Down of the Year: Foxy Shazam - The Church of Rock'n'roll. Im a fan of everything they've put out, but this album sucked.
Honorable mention goes to Yasiin Bey's N.I.P.
Thats sad. Barely any metal

I'm not a metal fan...which explains the lack of it.

The only ablbs that came out in 2012 that I listened cover to cover were motionless in white, was meh, peirce the veil, all sounde like the same song, and woe is me which I loved.

I liked most of motionless in white and I gave up on woe is me. It took them way to long to do some thing. I am very happy with issues though and crown the empire.

i want to like issue but the fact they are being drama queens just turns me off of them .
Rap best album was Apollo Brown and OC-Trophies
I only listen to a handful of those bands. I'm not into metal.
My favorite album of 2012 was most definitely Blunderbuss by Jack White. Followed closely by Centipede Hz. by Animal Collective.
My nominees list is missing some stuff. I had listened to Gojira's L'Enfant Sauvage and Kendrick Lamar's Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. Swimming Pools is probably the hardest track all year, or Crystal Castles Telepath.
