I like your list btw. Really creative idea. I like that you can cast Reflector Mage and Clutch of the Currents 2 turns later for awaken and then recast mage!

I cant afford flippy jace, otherwise I would. I do like that i have another return to hand eff from jace UoS -2 ability, plus i feel anafenza doesnt do much. I could run 4 drownyard temple and then run 2 eldrazi displacer, then put my awaken counters on the drownyards, as then if they are removed i can add them back to my hand. Its when you cast eerie interlude on a reflector, halimar and resurgence and just get so much value again. Im changing 4x Void Shatter for 4x Scatter to the Winds as the amount of recycling through Halimar Tidecaller and flicker effects is nuts. Glad you like it, hoping to catch a few people unawares at Gamesday ;-)
Wow, what a day! And what a playmat, so gorgeous. Here's a breakdown of the day:
Round 1: Bye. Niiiiiice. I decide to take a wander around to see what everyone's playing and feel out the meta. We had 3 GB Aristocrats, 1 Green Eldrazi Ramp, 1 GB Elves, 1 Esper Control, 1 BW Allies, 1 Mono White Weenies, 1 Jund Werewolves, 1GR Landfall, 1x UW control and something else I cant remember.
Round 2: GB Aristocrats. Great, this has been my worst matchup in testing due to the sheer rebuild and recursion of the deck. Game one goes ok, slow start but i start to build a 6/6 flying island and im slowly knocking his lifetotal down when he draws a sideboard card from his first round, and scoops. Game 2 I side in the encircling fissures and dazzling reflections, and side out the scatters. I then proceed to build up another big flying land while my opponent struggles with land draw. I get him to 9 with my 12/12 island. He topdecks a creature, sacs 5 to transform westvale and swings with ormendahl. I dazzling reflection and then swing on my turn for the win. 2-0
Round 3: GB Elves. Game one I take fairly quickly with a flying land and some nice bounces on a managorger hydra. Game two he swarms the board and beats me with 2 shaman of the pack. Game 3 I planar outburst his field on then 6 and then beat him down with a 6/6 land as he struggles to rebuild. 2-1
Round 4: Mono white weenies. This goes horribly. Game one he kills me turn 5. Game two he kills me turn 7. 0-2
I end up coming second with 3-1, with a top 4.
Top 4 round 1: Mono Green Eldrazi Ramp. I take game one quickly after an uncontested 12/12 flying island, and repeatedly flickering reflector mage. Game 2 i quickly take again in the same way, though I had to keep using Clutch/Reflector to keep him off a Bane of Bala Ged. 2-0
Top 4 Final: Jund Werewolves. I take game one after repeatedly bouncing a Sylvan Advocate and swinging with a 6/6 land. Game two rinse and repeat of game one. 2-0
I won Gamesday! And it was my first ever. Deck threw a lot of people off and Wall of Resurgence is definitely MVP. Debating whether to cut the displacement waves for side and go esper for ruinous path.
Well done! I'm glad this deck performed well, janky builds ftw. I'd personally keep displacement wave because / tokens are running around and it's quite the silver bullet.
Thanks, I love a good janky deck. I'll main Displacement wave if anyone at my local decides to play Tokens, no takers yet though! Now I just need 2 Jaces! :-)
