What's the hero you use the most in DotA2?

Okay I've played both and prefer League, DotA just isn't as smooth and user friendly. But I do play DotA as some of my friends started playing DotA.

I've been playing Phoenix, the Q is just so awesome. And it's a Phoenix.

I'm actually looking for a burst/assassin type character. Something like Riven or Katarina from League.

I'm actually looking for a burst/assassin type character. Something like Riven or Katarina from League.

If you're looking for burst magic damage, I suggest lina because she has a reliable aoe stun, optimal aoe damaging q, a nice passive that increases attack speed and movement speed depending on how many spells you cast, and a large damage ulti.  If you are looking for a solely physical damage burst assassin, I suggest Phantom Assasain, who has (I believe) the highest crit in game as a passive ulti, and many ways to make the chance to crit practically irrelevant.

Also why not skill shrapnel?  It's quite viable, even though it deals no tower damage anymore.

My personal favorite is ancient apparition, simply because of ice vortex and the global ulti of doom. 😈

I LOVE Storm Spirit! He's one of my better heroes. Here's my item build:
-Orchid Malevolence
-Bloodstone
-Linken's Sphere
-Power Treads
-Black King Bar
-Refresher Orb

I'd also really recommend Ogre Magi because one you've built an Aghanim's Scepter, you can potentially kill someone with hus Q skill and tbe D skill that gets unlocked. Plus, your spells jave the chance to be multicasted . Plus, his Q and D both stun. That one'll save your butt alot of the time.

If you enjoy going invisible but don't like Riki, you'd probably like Nyx Assassin. He has two escape mechanisms and one of them(his Q) also counts as a stun effect. Plus his ulti is amazing. When you cast his ulti, you get 50 seconds of invisibility(this if for when the ulti is maxed out) and an extra 600 bonus damage on your next attack

I don't bother to skill Shrapnel because from what I have found, it's not that relevant with last hitting. I believe that since my goal is to get a Desolator first, I'll need the headshot procs first followed by the extra range on level two. Plus, once I get my Desolator, I'm in business. In the late game, Sniper becomes a machine gun on drugs because of the Desolater followed with the bonus 30% attack speed granted by Mask of Madness and the chance to chain lightning from Maelstrom. It's quite effective. Believe me. And there's also the 30% crit rate from Crystalys. As well as the Shadow and the Lesser Main from Silver Edge.

-__- So you're one of those guys. I know a Gem of True Sight will reveal you, but those skills just annoy me sometimes. Whenever I play a game and I see Riki and Bounty Hunter in the same team, I'm like, Oh god someone buy a gem.

True, and I see your point there, I just like it because sniper has no real escape mechanism if ganked, so shrapnel tends to delay them with the slow.  And it gives vision, which is really good when heroes try to escape through the trees.  Might I suggest 1 point in it at level 12?
