Best past trade?

Ok let me be clear this is not a thread about ripping off people or taking advantage of someone not knowledgable about prices or some scam.

A good past trade you made that maybe back then was worth $5 and now it's worth $50.

So I spoke in the regrettable thread that I traded 2 force of will for 2 foil bonfire of the damned.  Well at the time foil bonfire was $75 and the FtV Realms set was just out and it was selling online for about $75.  I traded one of those foil bonfire of the damned for an entire FtV Realms set and more than made up for the crappy deal I got.  FYI I still have the other foil bonfire and it's only about $15 now.

And for whoever I traded for their FtV set.  I feel bad the bonfire tanked so much but if it's any conciliation, I am stuck with one too.

SD was $35, Snap was $15 and TG was like $12ish? So I took a small hit at first but now lol

Phyrexian Obliterator when it was like 6 for two Chromatic Lanterns when they were three.

Well I had a bad trade where I traded a foil m14 Mutavault for a Kalonian Hydra... They were $20 at the time..


As for the opposite, I've never had anything like that. I know my friend Dustin pulled a foil Ral Zarek at DGM prerelease, when it was valued at $200. He traded it for a playset of Boros Reckoners, a playset of Snapcaster Mages, 3 Geist of Saint Traft and 2 Lilliana of the Veil... Yeah...


I did have one trade before where the guy really wanted my foil Fathom Mage and I said I'd just give it to him, but he refused to just get it, so he have me 2 Restoration Angels for it. He offered so I didn't actually gip the guy, I just accepted a good offer



Edit: He DID know the cost of Resto angels and still agreed

Not really a trade, but I bought a full art cryptic command for $25 when they were about 30, then it jumped to 75 and traded it for a plateau.

I traded a playset of nightveil specters a playset of master of waves and a playset of thassa right before devotion to blue started to go down in price for 2 Vendilion cliques and a playset of snapcater mages. Blue cards went down and snap caster rose 10 and cliques rose 26

Speaking of bonfire, I bought a playset at preorder for 4-5 dollars each, then sold when they maxed... That turned like a 200 profit

I traded a  Voice of Resurgence for a play set of  Steam Vents when at the time I was actually taking a $10 hit. I just had that feeling it would pay off in the long run.

I traded the oversized foil Thraximundar for Brimaz, King of Oreskos intending to make a white Commander deck. Then I checked Brimaz, King of Oreskos's price. Idek what I'm going to buy with it. I do know I'm finally getting a play set of Chandra's Phoenix.

Unless you need them right now I would suggest not getting Chandra's Phoenix they are about to be rotated out of standard and once they're outta standard they'll be like $.50 each so just be careful

When do they rotate out? I've been working towards a Phoenix deck for quite some time, but I can wait. The only downfall is my LGS doesn't carry out of standard cards so they'll sell fast without being restocked and I live a ways away.

They rotate when Khans come out so September
