I'm not a mod, just a poster here, and I'm not saying anyone has done it, but PLEASE do not let this get personal, these are all opinions shared by people who have opinions like we all do.

I really would like to see a happy discussion between logical mature individuals. Thank you all for doing this so far and not letting this slide downhill.

End rant :)

Totally agree! It should always be a discussion. Everyone has their personal views of this situation. It is a very touchy subject we have gotten to. And thank you Nobel Llama for pointing this out. Your screen name fits your post... :-) and that is meant in all seriousness. Deep breaths had by all and friendly discussion from this point on good sir.

I am currently in private college prep school taking AP classes... I honestly don't know how I survived those years of public education but they sucked.

So you're paying more to take the same classes at a private school?
essentially yes, but in my last school you couldn't take AP courses until 11th grade and my classmates were terrible. now i can take an AP course as a sophomore which feels much more my speed and my classmates are awesome! i have literally not been offered drugs, been threatened, or been pummeled into the sidewalk once! (all of which happened at some point or another in my old school) i love it here. i absolutely detest public school systems as opposed to private schools as i have been to two public schools and two private schools.

Not accusing anyone, you guys are being opinionated, that's what we do as humans.

I just don't want to see this go down the path that so many topics have before.

I would +1 but I already hit you with one today. And on another note this is my number 400 post!

Not to say they are all good or all bad, but I was raised entirely in public schools and though we had our fair share of drug issues and fights and whatnot, no one ever beat me up and I still got a very solid education. Can't say this is always the case but occasionally they work.
well sure, there are nice public schools and trashy private schools, but i just cant get over the change between my last school and this one. i actually look forward to school every day and just the whole school community and student body are great. :D whatevs

Not everybody has the cash to go to private schools though. What we should do is fix the public schools...

Ny daughter has two note years till kindergarten so we are already saving for the cost of tuition. it helps having a good job but thats still a lot of dough.

Well for one putting caps on teacher salaries. We have a teacher at our school who is terrible but makes $80,000+ and has tenure. Secondly, get rid of tenure. I'd also suggest separating people into high, middle and low schools as they do in some other countries. This would allow those who are more intelligent and are more serious about their education could go to "high school" were they would receive a higher quality education and those who only want a basic high school degree (because they are planning on going into a field that doesn't require knowledge of calculus and chemistry) to go to low schools.

If you don't like what is provided to you at very minimal/no cost, you can blame your guardians for that.

I hate it when Templars.

I also hate it when a potential place of work that I've been at for one day decides to not take me back cause one of the supervisors saw me on my phone to send a quick text.

You know there's a theory going around that the Companion Cube actually holds the souls/essence of the deceased Aperture employees?

Well, it actually holds the bodies of failed test subjects ;)
