Not Guilty of ALL CHARGES!!! :)

This is right, he did what you do when in self defense.  Justice has prevailed!!! :)

It stopped being self defense after he refused to stand down and got out of his car.....

This case is stupid, it has nothing to do with anything important.

So he was hispanic and treyvon was black....so what? Kids die every day, kids are killed every day. Life happens, move on.

Facebook is lined with this crap and all i can think is "why do you even give a s#%t?"

It was never a race case, and shouldn't be considered as such because that's some random bs people wanted to throw in.

Race case crap, the funny thing is they mistrialed this so bad.  .politics. got mixed with the criminal justice system, and they tried him for 2nd degree murder.  A reporter said this well, "The criminal justice system is not here to please the public, but it is here to try based on facts, using those facts to try properly."

CJS tried to please the public and that messed up.

I have mixed feelings. And I don't particularly want to go into them, because the truth is, it's a complicated case, none of us were there and know exactly how it all happened, and it sounds like both Zimmerman and Martin made some bad decisions that night. Losing a 17 year old kid as a result is absolutely tragic, and sensationalizing this case or rising racial tensions won't bring him back or make up for the underlying truth - stupidity led to loss of life. Unacceptable. Instead of dwelling on it, getting angry, or screaming for justice done or denied, we need to instead learn from mistakes lest we be doomed to repeat them and senselessly lose more lives.

That all being said, when the verdict came out I was with some friends...at the house of one who happens to live in the wrong part of town. There was race rioting literally on the next street over. Heard a few gunshots. Me, being the chunky white man that I am, ended up staying much later than I planned to (until things calmed down) and now I'm probably going to be too tired for prerelease today :( ALL GEORGE ZIMMERMAN'S FAULT. He owes me 6 m14 packs now.

The short version: it's a high profile, all over the media, hot-button case of a neighborhood watch captain (George Zimmerman) who shot and killed an unarmed 17-year-old kid (Treyvon Martin). His plea was self defense, and was found not guilty of all charges by a jury yesterday.

Bottom line for me is on a dark night a man walked up to a stranger with a gun in his hand.  Had he left his piece behind or, better yet, stayed inside and let the police do their job none of this would've happened. I see guys in hoodies on dark streets on occasion but i don't, as a rule, approach them, especially when I'm holding a weapon.

Wisdom, to me, is keeping a watchful eye but putting down the weapon until someone tries to harm you or your loved ones. This was not that scenario.

See the song "Don't take your guns to town" by Johnny Cash

I saw this... Being unarmed and 17 against an. Armed guard canNOT provoke self defense, really... And in this case it was he should have been proven guilty.

Well, a fight broke out between the two that night.  Travon Martin supposedly got on top of Zimmerman and was shot.  Evidence, and forensics prove that to be true too.

Zimmerman was also put up for 2nd degree murder.  Which was stupid, because there was no way they could take the evidence they had, and put that as 2nd degree murder.

If anything, it was 2nd by the loosest terms. Maybe self-defense.

There was no fight.... Nobody got on top of anyone...
If we look back into his original story and film, his wounds from the "fight" appeared around a week after the incident. He also stated that he followed treyvon and shot him.

Only about a week and a half after he shot treyvon did he claim self defense, which just so happened to be 3 days after he contacted his lawyer.

The absolute ignorance for this case is nearly unbearable... It's like casey anthony round 2, or oj simpson round 3.

Yes, the verdict is what it should be because of a complete lack of evidence. But as to if he is guilty of the crime, yes, he is.

Trayvon, 6'4" 225 lbs.

It's just exactly like casey anthony/oj simpson... Really.

They OBVIOUSLY did what they did, and a lack of evidence let to the acquittal.

As for the tape they played saying "you cant tell who is who".
You can most definitely tell a teenage black kid apart from a 30's year old hispanic... Cultural slang leaves an accent however small under whatever circumstance.

What this case really says is that i can walk up to a random guy, shoot him directly in the face, and walk free. Just say it was self defense.

I'm done here

Post is not related!

Fallout 3 has ruined me. Can't see "Zimmerman" without thinking of the quest in Rivet City....

Carry on
