It took just one commercial viewing for me to know that King of the Nerds would fill me with rage if I tried to watch it. It looked like they just tried waaayyyy too hard. The Big Bang Theory is the most unfunny thing I've ever seen. And I stopped listening to the Nerdist because Chris Hardwick was always talking about how much he hates that the nerd culture is popular, yet he named his podcast the Nerdist.
I have not seen a single comic book movie that I was impressed by. Maybe the Watchmen. I think im the only person in the world that hated the Avengers.
It's just all symptomatic of a culture that values material things more then knowledge. I guess that is just everyone when you boil it down...I don't know.
Something I've been thinking about to do something nice for our little community members. The trusted ones that is. Have a thread of there birthdays and for their birthdays send them a cards/deck box/sleeves just a little something to say Happy Birthday.

Wouldn't that be nice.
That would grind my gears.
Ps- that'd be mighty nice of you, and necessary. Certain members have been long overdue presents.

I guess so. I attribute it mostly to the explosion of social networking. Everything is crossing over and becoming one thing. Look at the Trash Talk and Odd Future collaboration. Hip hop and hardcore haven't really been mashed together (with a social acceptance) Body Count and maybe Suicidal Tendencies.
Speaking of gear grinding. It grinds my gears thats there's TWO Black Flag incarnations getting together and neither one involves Henry Rollins
what grinds my gears is that the new messaging beta thing won't let me go back to the iMtG app. I clicked on a card while going through my messages to see if I received the trade and now I can't go back. Piotr help! :|
