I just tried downloading FTB, but my conputer's antivirus stopped it without asking.  I know it's safe, but I can't get my computer to listen to me.  I've heard others have the same problem... Can anyone help?  I've been looking up the kids and I NEED this pack... Mystcraft and secret rooms...  I'm excited!

What's your antivirus? There must be a place to add exceptions manually.

My friends and I all use Microsoft security essentials, and it doesn't give us any problems. If you are considering switching, I can tell you it works well (assuming you're on pc and not Mac)

Yeah, MS Essentials is really all that's needed, as long as you are careful.

Just some built-in MS stuff... ScreenSomethingorother.  Safe, maybe?  Anyway, I figured out how to disable it temporarily, but now it says it can't download?  Too many people trying I guess... Ugh I REALLY want to try mystcraft!!!!

Okay, I got it.  Been looking for good seeds and got sick of the redwood biomes, so now I'm going to try it with the ExtraBiomesXL mod disabled.

Try to find an autumn forest biome, they are fun. So many colors.

Extra biomes is awesome! Although redwoods do pop up too much.

I'm living a non-extra biomes seed I found, the seed is "New Phyrexia".  I'm getting really annoyed with the lack of chickens though, or maybe the fact that I killed most of them... Anyway I'm having trouble getting feathers for descriptive books.

Got any obsidian and eggs?

Step 1: dig a 5x5 hole, 1 deep.
Step 2: build walls at least 3 high above your hole.
Step 3: in one bottom corner, place a bucket of water. It should flow and cover the whole floor except the 1 block on the opposite corner.
Step 4: In the dry corner, place a piece of obsidian pipe. Power it with 2 redstone engines. Pipe out to a piece of diamond pipe. Pipe one exit out to some chests. Pipe another exit up to the top of your cube.
Step 5: hook the top pipe up to a dispenser, a chest, then a recycler or void pipe (your choice, to get rid of excess) in that order. Face the dispenser inwards so that what comes out falls into the hole (and so eggs hit the opposite wall and any chicks made fall in).
Step 6: sort diamond pipe. Eggs go up, chicken and feathers go out to chests.
Step 7: throw eggs inside until a chick or two spawns. In time, they will grow up and start making eggs that will get sucked up by the obsidian pipe and stored automatically for you. Idle there or use a world anchor for a day, and those 2 chickens will fill a diamond chest.

Final step! Now that you have eggs... Hook up the dispenser to a rapid pulsar redstone pattern. You will have so many chickens that your server will lag if you don't kill them every few hours. Feathers and meat will be picked up by the obsidian and sorted by the diamond pipe automatically.

And if you want a real fun time... Hook up a "cull" button at the bottom that blasts the chickens with a potion of harming to get rid of large amounts at once.

Not only will this get you unlimited food and feathers, but killing the chickens is actually quite a lot of experience.

Well.  I got stuck in an age an forgot a linking book so now I'm on a new world ._. But it's working pretty well.  Plenty of chickens in this world, too.

Doh!  There are ways to get back when stuck in an age.

If you've gotten a world with crystals yet, there's a special table you can make with them to edit books. You can use it to make your overworld book "following," meaning you don't drop it when you use it - 1 book for the rest of your life to get back home with.

But, do you have any idea why I spontaneously catch on fire whenever I go into an age?  It's not in the properties, but it's been in every age I've gone to...

Well that isn't happening, and I wrote a great world:  huge biomes, mushroom island, cave world.  Only problem is... I forgot a linking book again.  I saw a turorial on editing the files to fix it, though.  I'll just use that.  I thought I had a linking book, but when I went to use it I didn't...

Spontaneous combustion is a form of world instability, created when a world is made with missing, too many, or clashing components, or illogical aspects.

Think of instability like this: does this world make sense? For example, if you make a world tiny biomes and huge biomes, the two clash and some instability is added. Some attributes automatically are unstable, like dense ore worlds. The more clashes, the more bad stuff. It can range anywhere from eternal slowness or blindness, being caught on fire when exposed to the sun, to world-crushing meteors and ever-devouring ooze that destroys the entire age.
