Nicol bolas

Need help with a {nicol bolas planeswalker} deck idea. Want to use him in standard. Ideas please.

When you say ideas, do you really mean "deck list"? But really, a bolas deck is usually three axes of control. Hand destruction, counter magic and burn. Usually some black kill spells and some blue card draw too.

That pretty much somes it up. First off what format? Second what will you be playing against (always an important question with control). Finally the must have cards (asuming standard format); {guilded lotus}, {snapcaster mage}, and {pristine talisman}.

Just need a start. I have some good burn in there now. I feel like the good kill spells are about to rotate out. I am missing on mana leak too. Any help would be great. Thanks.

So i overlooked the word "standard" in the OP. I highly recommend hand hate, snapped {mind rot} does some serious damage.

Use {Essence Scatter} and {Rewind}, use {Duress} and {Distress} and other such cards to get non creatures out of their hand, and run some {Murder}, pray for a reprint of {Terminate}.

Best way for deck help is to post the deck in the section it would fall under and ask for tweaks. Even if it's only a start of a deck twentyish cards. And write under what you are trying to do

Mutilate as a board sweeper, especially if you're going the control route.  Gem of Becoming helps to fix your mana as well.

{Gem of becoming} for sure to thin out my deck. I guess I will try to find a good balance of kill, controll, and burn. So I can get him out. How many {gilded lotus} should I run?

I like 3 lotus with {ghostly flicker}s to get gross amounts of mana early.

Okay, so your main goal is to get out {Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker} and start winning. Since Bolas requires a lot of mana, I would be tempted to run a control deck. Counterspells, stall, ramp, anything helps until you can get the big baddie out.

The shell of the deck is easy to do, but this can get expensive quickly. You need dual lands, {Snapcaster Mage}s, etc.
