he's probably going along the lines of auras create 2 for 1 situations.
Yeah, auras generally are bad.

I'll get the deck up - I was working on it last night.

I wouldn't call them "bad" so much as "high risk/high reward situations." especially in limited, when your opponent is much less likely to have substantial removal. Dark and divine favor are definitely playable (in limited). Risky sure, and shouldn't be your top picks, but playable.

Encrust is playable too. It's removal. Crappy removal, yes, but removal in limited (sealed is even harder to come by) is still playable.

And Bond beetle. Give a creature a counter for 1 mana, and a free 1-time chump block. Again, nothing special, but in limited, can be playable depending on your pool.

Other than those 4, I agree with proph's analysis.

I like {primal clay} just for the choice t gives me, I'd I need a flyer, I'm good, I need a wall, I'm good. Or I can put {dark favor} on it and have a decent beat stick.

scarsabrex

my only gripe about primal clay is that only as a 3/3 is he at a power level consistent with his cost.

compare with say {skin shifter} who performs remarkably and can play all roles
given that he has to be activated each time.

I think Primal Clay performs better (not stellar, mind you) with ARV's blink tricks and M13's {G} {Roaring Primadox} archetype.

As far a Sealed goes....  not my dept.

In sealed, he is a 4cmc colorless. Which is why I would include him. I dot har to worry about improper lands. And if I hook him up with a {dark favor}. Either as a 3/3 or a 2/2 flyer it's going to hit hard.

Why is {jaces phantasm} not getting any love in here?  Is it because I didn't get any other mill cards to buff him?  I like it, it's a one {U} drop flyer. Can't go wrong with that IMO.

It's such a conditional card though. You need to commit to mill to justify using him, and that depends on your pull. Here we have 1 mind sculpt, and 1 veldraken. Mill is not viable with this pull. So phantasm is not going to be very useful, if at all.  Now if there were 3 more mind sculpts, another veldraken, and a sands of delerium or two, maybe a jace... Phantasm would be a bomb.

Favors: The thing is that you just don't want to get two for one'd. If this was in AVR (where the removal was all bad) then sure, I can pick up some Auras. But we are in core set now, with good removal. Bounce hurts too.

Encrust: The thing with Encrust is that you can't really use it offensively. It's removal for sure, but this isn't {Claustrophobia}.

Bond Beetle: I don't think it's worth a card.

I like Primal Clay as well, I missed out on that. I just liked {Chronomaton} better because it was cheaper.

The big problem with Phantasm is that

1. You don't have enough mill cards
2. 10 cards is a lot.
3. Mill doesn't do anything to affect the board state
3. You don't want cards in your deck that do nothing.

You can run better stuff than a 1 drop U flyer.

Imdowd80

I like a lot of one drop two drop creatures on limited, due to it playing fast. But I wouldn't play blue with my other pulls, so I wouldn't put the phantasm in here.

Jester I still would like your take on what you would build, the more ideas and feedback that we can get, the better we all become.

I concur.  I like cheap stuff as well. Being able to cast your spells is huge in limited - you don't want to aimlessly draft {Stormtide Leviathan}s and {Sphinx of Uthuun}s. However, 1/1s, generally, are not worth a card in Limited. Once I get my draft article up (soon), I'll touch on that.
