I don't get why people are building post rotation decks already.. It doesn't make sense since we don't know what's in ravnica yet and as soon as we can't use scars we have ravnica...so your just kinda filling in with sub par cards because we all know how good ravnica will be.. I hope whoever reads this will understand it, maybe shed some light on the situation that I'm missing ?

I understand that completely! But that's what the "other" board is for I thought..Block constructed and what not.

I agree with this^^^.  It seems like people are limiting themselves by not using cards that have not rotated out yet.  I'm not gonna limit myself just because in a few months a card won't be legal.  I'm playing with what's available now. :/

I like the challenge.
Besides, I dont want to buy new cards that I will only use for a short time.

This.

Seems silly to buy cards u won't be able to play in standard if standard is the only format you play. Granted decks can be made better by scars block but a lot of people just don't want To spend money for nothing

Coffee Vampire

There was once a rich young man who lived in his father's castle. Now it was fine living in this castle. It even had a hot tub that gave immortality. But alas, the man's father was dying, and he knew that he would get no inheritance; indeed, all would go to his brother. Now this brother was not so fond of the young man, and was always glad to remind him that once their father died, he would kick him out of the house.

Now the young man had a choice to make. He could live in the house for a little longer, and experience the bitter joys of a hot tub that he would no longer be able to feel in a month. Or he could leave right away so as to adapt to the new, not-so-nice place he would be living in for a long time after his father died.

Well, he chose neither. Instead, he killed his father and when his brother kicked him out, he killed him too and took the hot tub with him. He was found by the local police in the mountains, trying to install the hot tub in the ground (but to no avail). He was arrested and was promptly banished to the moon, never to return.

The end.

The moral of this story is that you can choose to cling to sets that are about to rotate so as to make use of all options, or you can make post-rotation decks and be better prepared when old sets do rotate. But whatever you do, don't cling to the past by putting old stuff that has already rotated in your new standard decks. Because you will get caught and they will send you to the moon!
