Mana Burn

It was one of those weird things to try to explain to new players.  Since it rarely comes up, when they do take mana burn, it felt like "you remember that obscure rule that we almost never use? Yeah, take two damage."

It's not so much the tapping too many lands.  It's doing something big like a {Seething Song} or two or a {Mana Geyser}, or {Heartbeat of Spring} is on the table and you only have spells with odd CMCs.

Like I said. {Tolarian Academy} and intimate mana. Sucks.

Really?  What makes you say that?  I'd like to hear some supporting arguments for burn.

Made it better in the sense that you couldn't just dump mana in your pool and not use it, a little more tactical.
