What's everyone's opinion on FF Tactics? I personally loved it and feel it often gets overlooked. I really really liked the gameplay on it and I loved how they incorporated the DnD-esque class system.

FFT is my favorite PlayStation game. No lie. I liked it more then FFVII, Metal Gear Solid and anything else that came out that generation. I have it on my iPad, the remastered version. I still love it.

Also, about Final Fantasy: I sort of agree with the Kotaku article "The Slow, Excruciating Death of Final Fantasy". It's been difficult to come to terms with it, but every new addition seems to lack the magic and intrigue that cause me to put 99:99:99 hours into FFVII.

I became too dependent on Lulu because of the bouts with Sin, so I wanted to get her ultimates.

FFT was such an amazing game. I've beaten it countless times, and it never loses its touch. It really is depressing to see the new final fantasy games. Playing the old ones is so nostalgic and wonderful, and the new ones really don't have that same great feeling.

I've never played FFT, but I can agree with this. I liked FFXIII, but I recently went back and played I, II, IV, and V, and there is no comparison.

American RPGs have just taken over IMO. I poured who knows how many hours into Fallout 3. I don't even like FPS games! Traditional JRPGs haven't aged gracefully, the power of these modern consoles is too much.

I did really like FFXII, because it was like an offline MMORPG. I thought a similar treatment on PS3 would have been a great idea. I loved the idea of a persistent world that your character walks around in. An open world, level based MMO simulator with programmable AI teammates.

FFT is up there for me. I didnt know there's an iPad for it. I might have to commandeer my wife's iPad now.

Gah, this is making me want to dig my original PS and alllllll my RPGs out of storage.

My biggest beef with everything after X is you can see the enemies. The battle system for XII was AWFUL and im not a fan of the system XIII uses. I want random battles. I LIVE FOR THAT FROZEN SCREEN AND CLASSIC FF BATTLE MUSIC.

I felt the concept of those .hack games were very cool. MMORPGs were just starting to become huge in America, and here was a quirky MMO-style game. Unfortunately they weren't any good, but it kinda showed what the Sandbox style game could do for the traditional JRPG. I think Final Fantasy kinda just got left behind, and much like StarWars - sells products based solely on the iconic imagery and memories of our childhood, instead of making new products that are successful by their own merit.

They NEED to make a Battlefront 3. On a different very very sad note, I never owned a Playstation... *sob* I grew up on Nintendo.

Bethesda is easily my #1 Game Studio though. Nintendo doesn't really count, because they're frekin' Nintendo. 2nd is probably Visceral, then Vigil, but well, Vigil doesn't really Vigil anymore =[

I'd honestly say I have to put Visceral over Bethesda.  I love Fallout, but Dead Space wins there.  And I'd throw valve in the top 3 probably. If Half Life 3 ever happens, they'll shoot to #2 for sure!  But that's a different topic for a different time :P

Is Dead Space an open world RPG? I've never played it before - but I like that style of game. I don't like FPS generally; gamss like BioShock, Dead Island (yawn), Call of Duty and that type of stuff.

I never played the first one, but I really liked Bioshock 2. I'm no fan of FPS games, but the story was really touching if you chose the good side. Playing through the eyes of the so-called "monster" was a really cool perspective. The story behind the world and everything is pretty detailed and cool as well. One of the only FPS games I like, along with the Fallout games and Borderlands games.

No, Dead Space isn't. 1 is very horror. Lots of dark rooms, sudden movements/noises, and an all-around creepy game. 2 was much more  action-oriented and had a developing character. 3 was very story-based and had some side missions. But it's not an RPG, and it's not open world, but the whole series sure is good.  If you're into 3rd person survival horrors, then there is no reason you shouldn't play Dead Space. The games are fairly linear, but have between 10-16 hour campaigns, 3 being the longest.

So I've got a job interview tomorrow.... And when I picked out my outift today, I found five bucks in one of the pockets!

Yes Infinitive! I think looking at my Steam statistics, I've managed to pump as many hours into Battlefront 2 as fallout 1-3 and Vegas combined. That's saying something! If an fps (a genre i don't play much) can burn through the same number of hours as my favorite PC rpg it needs a sequel.

Jrpgs have sunk in my opinion. I played most of the final fantasy 1-9 games for 60+ hours each. At least. FF 10 was about 50+  (but mostly because of that dratted underwater soccer game),  FF 11 I skipped of course, FF12 I spent 20 or so hours, FF 13? 15 minutes.
