The rack & bottomless pit

Hi all... Need some help with this one.  Both the rack and bottomless pit are activated at the beginning of target players upkeep. SO which one goes off first?  i.e., how to calculate amount of damage done???

depends on who controls which.

Assuming one player controls both, that player puts them on the stack how they want.

You do one ability, and then the second.

If They have 23 cards in hand, would the rack mAke them gain 20 life?

no negative damage=0 damage.
