Can someone fully explain how {Torpor Orb} interacts with Undying?

This is either an insane combo or should be in my sideboard (for Standard).

Cheers

undying triggers in the GY. So itll come back. now if u had the Pit-Dweller (some1 link plz dont know the full name) the 'when it enters the battlefiend frim Gy lose control' effect WONT trigger so u keep it.

{Torpor Orb} stops ETB (Enter The Battlefield) effects. Undying is static ability that is triggered when an undying creature goes to the graveyard, there for when an undying creature returns to the battlefield there is nothing to trigger the orb. The creature will receive the +1/+1 counter. Sorry to spoil the combo.

Okay, your wording is dangerous. Topor orb only affects triggers as a result from entering the battlefield, but not all ETB effects. {geralf's messenger} is a perfect example. With the orb out he would not cause an opponent to lose 2 life because that is an effect that is triggered when he enters the battlefield. However, he will still enter the battlefield tapped because that isn't triggered. I believe the same works for Bloodthirst

Correct I assumed the audience would understand what I was saying. {geralf's messenger}s enter tapped is a static ability hence would not trigger the orb. Only triggered ETB effects would be stop such as soul bound and the "Titan" ETB effects.
