I put this together the night before based on what i expected from the meta (delver & RG).
I based it more on the turn three billion damage and pesky dude control than my usual deck of frost titans for board control. I lost to falkenrath aristocrat picking up the tail end of zombiepod and mono green when i saw no bonfires in three games.
Star play of the night was turn two heartless, turn three heartless and solemn, turn four drop cavern naming demon, cast rune-scarred pay six life for three metamorphs and tap two red for urabrask and swing 18

Kaleo42

Got first lastnight thanks to thundermaw and the lich combo. This deck is hope for those who have their local meta overrun with net decks.

I like this idea. However what enables yøū to stay afloat if you don't pull heartless?

I know yøū have 4 of them but there is still a semi low-moderate chance yøū wont draw it or start with it in your hand.

Kaleo42

When i dont get heartless bonfire and solemn are my saving grace. Last night i beat red green aggro with just priest into priest into bonfire and he lost his mana dorks. Then two more bonfires and a solemn kept it clear for my bears to get through. If theyre playing big things i can still turn 3 metamorph and get caught up fairly well.
In general i play off of a heartless or a solemn, either way my 6 drops hit early catch me up if need be.

Kaleo42

I guess i took for granted that everyone knew about this strategy. Apparently i was wrong.

So what to replace all those dualies with.. :/ no sense wasting money on rotating lands. Creatures I can because they'll work in edh

Fastlands (scars block) help a lot with hitting early game, but there is no reason you couldnt be just as successful with the slow duals as long as they all trigger off the same color basic and that color is the primary bulk of your creature base.

Greg54js

Yeah reg dualies will have to work.

Kaleo42

So what do you want to use, {bonfire of the damned}, {inferno titan}, {thundermaw hellkite}, or black wrath, {massacre wurm}, {nefarox, overlord of gixis}, {rune-scarred demon}, or {devastation tide}, {frost titan}, {deadeye navigator}, {conscrated sphinx}. Each focus has it's own pros and cons.

Greg54js

Honestly I'm thinkin of going grixis with it. A little of everything

Kaleo42

Best bet then might be {cavern of souls} name giant.

Greg54js

Damn that is still so f**xking expensive

Kaleo42

Thats why i suggest focusing on a color. Youll still have some of each, but itll be mostly one and a little of the others, just like how mine is mostly red (priest makes for some stupid early game in red, like double inderno titan turn three with heartless a priest a titan and a metamorph).

Greg54js

I think I'll go black cause it seems more challenging.. As much as I like big idiots I want a challenge
