My opponent attacks with a {Primeval Titan} with a {Primal Bellow} for 7 more damage for a total of 13/13 trample. I block with a {Avacyn Angel of Hope}. What happens? Does the trample have any effect?

You only need to assign enough damage that could destroy the creature.  Indestructable or not.  In the case of avacyn you will assign 8 damage to her.  If you gave you trample creature deathtouch it would only need to assign 1 damage.....even to an Indestructable.

In order to kill an indestructible creature you can only do it with -1/-1 counters or exile it from the game, bounce it to their owners hand and counter it when casted. I am pretty sure death touch has no effect on it. I just dont know if trample damage countinues through to me. I am also pretty sure the {Avacyn Angel of Hope} survives.

See rule 700.4

indestrutible creatures still have a threshold called lethal damage, even if lethal damage wouldn't kill them. lethal damage = toughness of the creature. Death touch makes it so that lethal damage is one. Trample says you can assign all damage excess of lethal of the blocked creature(s) to the player. So trample + death touch= assign one per blocking creature rest can go over.

So in my original question, I would take 5 damage? The angel blocks 8 and survives and I take the 5 from trample?

yes. think of it as an indestructible wall with x height. A tidal wave with height larger than x will still go over it even if the wall blunts some of it.
