Ajani Goldenmane, was a proud albino nacatl. He was shunned from his pride as hunted by humans because if his white fur. Only by his brother, Jazal, leader of the wild nacatl, did he survive.

Nicol Bolas, back on Grixis, is scheming to reunite the shards of alara an regain his former power. He wants to cause fighting and chaos in each of the shards to increase the maelstrom.

Nicol Bolas killed his brother, he was sad, got his spark.

Marisi is an ancient nacatl, the one who originally separated the cloud and wild nacatl. He is believed to be dead and every year, the wild nacatl hold a feast in his honor.

After the feast, during the night, horrible demons erupted from the fire and murdered Jazal, causing the wild nacatl to go in to an uproar.

Ajani finds his brother, ax sunk deep in his chest. His spark ignites and he rips thought the fabric of reality, ending up on the molten world of Jund.

There he meets Sharkon Vol, and learns the secrets of red mana, and swears to avenge his brother.

Ajani learns that Chimamatl, and old nacatl witch, summoned the demons that killed Jazal. He traces her back to Marishi, who has reappeared and led the Wild Nacatl in an attack on the Cloud Nacatl.

Ajani discovers that Marishi is working for Nicole Bolas, and is simply fueling the maelstrom.

Suddenly the maelstrom erupts, fusing the shards togeather. Determined to avenge his brother, Ajani goes to Grixis, to find and kill Nicole Bolas at all costs. He fails, bitter and near death, he walks away from the world to try to find another means to kill Nicol Bolas....
