has anyone noticed the trend recently, with these previews and their articles on DailyMTG, that the authors are seemingly pre-emptively defensive of the cards flaws? I feel like i've read three different passionate paragraphs about why card X is so amazing and worth it even though it costs a lot and isn't really that likely to get played. Case in point, the new Limited Information article about that five mana enchantment that's like {Burning Vengeance} for multicolor spells.

Why do the cool art cards have to suck sometimes?  Stupid #3

I could see #2 being one of those cards that was never played very often, but isn't really a bad card.

I just feel like they're trying too hard. Definitely feels like a high CMC set though.

Well 2 junk mythics so far.

I don't like these high CMC cost cards as much as anyone else. That enchantment might see some EDH play, and perhaps limited (since you can pick) and is still better then {staff of nin} (which is a litmus test for bad cards )
