Notes:
This is my standard deck that I usually run. I try to keep it as up to date as possible. I did run a build of this at PTQ Return to Ravnica where I went 5-2 (11-6-0) and made Top8

Kaleo42

No vexing devils?
That soulbond haste guy has proven pretty problematic on numerous occasions in my tech group.

{lightning mauler}

Lightning mauler is an excellent 2 drop. I can't think of a better 2 drop since he allows anything yøū play the next turn to attack when played.

I really think {vexing devil} is just simply not good. I'd have to cut {gut shot} or {pillar of flame} for him, and both of those are so incredible in the meta right now.

I'd like to run {lightning mauler} but he costs 2 mana and I'm not sure I want to drop the {bloodcrazed neonate} for him since it synergizes with {volt charge} so well. Perhaps when it cycles, I'd think about bringing him in for ita synergy with {brimstone volley} which is probably what I'll run instead of {volt charge} unless stuff really comes in to change up; I see the environment getting only more creature heavy.... Which means {lighting mauler} may get better.

How did you make top 8 at a ptq?

Vexing devil is very good. If you know how to play magic.

Feel free to enlighten me, I don't claim to know everything. How would I correctly play {Vexing Devil}?

Vexing devil against any good deck is mediocre. If you're playing a bunch of kiddies that don't play with removal or counters then yeah, vd is good. (omg lol)

With all these delver, esper control, wolf ramp flying around,he is not a threat whatsoever.

He is only OK in the first hand or t2.

You NEVER want to leave the decision of a card up to your opponent.

He's a scrub and not worth a slot in a deck, sorry.

Oh  don't apologize at all. I agree 100%, I was curious as to how he thought {vexing devil} was worth anything more than a piece of toilet paper to wipe my ass with.

I don't know why I quoted you haha. Im with u. He's not worth a slot

Plagueprince

Fire servant or galvanoth

Kdebo

I would honestly cut volt charge and the bloodcrazed neonate. They work well together, but Vexing Devil and Lightning Mauler are so strong. They seem way more worth it.

why on earth would I put a card that costs that much to cast with only 20 lands? To boot.... is {fire servant} even T2 legal?

Wasn't overly impressed with the performance of {Chandra's Phoenix} so I dropped the pair of those, as well as a single {pillar of flame} then added 3 {reckless waifs}, but I like to look at them as {merciless predators} haha, just because they brought the pain so hard in some of my other games (but I was also happy with {stonewright}. More often than not I found that surprisingly the sorcery aspect of {pillar of flame} was a bit of a pain, and I seemed to use like the use of {gut shot} way more.
You forgot the second parenthesses.

I'm actually going to add reckless waifs instead of a few things like a playset of Chandra's Phoenix.

Do you play with koth at all?

Coffee Vampire

Dragon seems bad to me...it will take 4 turns (leaving room for 1 proliferate)...and even that is long. He will just get removed when he awakens. {Silent Departure}, anyone? To make him good, you need a ton of cards that either proliferate or give counters. You have some, but not enough to make him a threat. And putting in more would waste space.

Karrthus

IMO {Hellion Crucible} is garbage. Although I can see your decks use for them, me personally I wouldn't
