Just ran into a weird ruling that I'm pretty sure works but want to confirm it. Let's say I have {prismatic omen} on the field and then play {keeper of progenitus}, could I essentially tap an island, which could be seen as tapping either a forest, mountain or plains, and add {U}{G}{W}{R} to my mana pool since the omen makes them every land type?

Milo109

I think you have to tap separately so no

Quackmaster5

It says "whenever", not "for each". Which is why I think it works.

Greg54js

I believe it works the way you want. Based on the wording of keeper. Tapping omened lands counts as tapping a mountain forest swamp island plains. You just choose what color it produces.

Quackmaster5

Now this might be really greedy but since the wording describes forest, plains, and mountains, and lands are all basic land types, couldnt omens effects work on the wording of keeper and make me tap one land for one of each color of mana. So basically tap a land: get BUWRG

Greg54js

No. Keeper only says an extra mana of the color that land produced. So an omened land tapped for blue gets an extra blue

Quackmaster5

Damn. Oh well. 4 mana for one land is good enough. Lmao

Why do you say that? It says forest, plains, and mountains, I would add a color that that land would produce. Since my island is a forest, plains, and mountain, it will add the color of each of those when I tap it, plus the one blue from originally tapping it.

scarsabrex

it doesn't say any that land WOULD produce it says what it DID produce. so you get 4 of the same color whenever you tap a land.

No. It works like a dual land. You have to pick which type it produces. It doesn't produce them all.

I understand that but since it doesn't say "whenever you tap a land" and it says specifically "forest plains and mountain", it counts as all of them automatically. Idk I think it works. I'm wondering what BJ will say to this.

Greg54js

Yes it's all three of those types. It still only produces ONE mana. Keeper doesn't care what color it is. Keeper just adds one more mana of the mana produced by said land.

scarsabrex

"any type that land produced" if you tap it for any one color it produced that one color. so you will get 4 of the same color.
