Why does {bonfire of the damed}have 2 x in the mana cost? Do you have to pay twice one for the player and one for the creatures?

You pay X twice as the cost so if you have 5 mana and wana do 2 to everything you pay R 2 2

Sagemaster

It's two cause they have to be the same amount

Sagemaster

Also this should be in rules I think haha

Silent_one

I gotcha. Thanks for the help

scarsabrex

that awkward moment when basic algebra teaches you that the x=x always.

This ⬆

I had to take high school level geometry and pre-algebra cuz I didn't care in high school.  Now here I am almost finished with my MBA and taking tons of accounting, statistics, and finance classes.  Finance classes are the toughest.....you should see the equations to value stocks, bonds, and preferred stock.....it's nuts and then throw tax considerations in and your head starts to spin.

Morale of the story kids, take algebra and all those high level math classes in high school so you don't have to pay for them in college.

[off subject rant=over]

The idea behind XX spells is to make them harder to cast since they are so powerful.  So if you want X=4 then you first have to pay the one red then 4 and 4 so a total of 9 mana after it is all said and done.....that is what makes this miracle so nuts.....you reduce the casting cost almost by half.
