Personally if you want to try out Mono-Black the options avaliable to you are Mono-Black Infect and Mono-Black Control.
I personally recommend Infect, since it's quick and fast.

Check out my zombie infestation deck posted in the standard forum. It is pretty solid especially with {nim deathmantle}. I have had a lot of fun with this fairly competitive deck. Some people think I should put {skinrender} into the deck but I think it is fine. If a Titan gets sacked you just pay 4 mana and attach {nim deathmantle} to it and bring it back from the graveyard. As long as you attack every turn with your unblockable titans you produce 2 2/2 zombie tokens. It is pretty overwhelming for opponents.
