Why must people lay down conditionals?! I'm in it with Jester, it's not worth just giving her an 'Accept or GTFO', compromise is important. Relationships go nowhere without it.

Besides, doesnt Batman have a new gf every volume/episode/movie?

Hahaha... No. In the dark knight trilogy he didn't have a girlfriend. In the original ( Jack Nocholson Joker) he didn't officially have a girlfriend they were just drunk. In Batman and Robin and Batman Returns he didn't either. And he didn't in Batman forever either. There's a long stretch in the comics (about twenty or twenty five issues) where he didn't either. And then the 60s batman (Adam West) didn't either.

Maybe then, batman is in love w/Alfred?

Did you just call my idol a homosexual? Oh you're dead now.
Hey homosexual isn't bad. It's perfectly ok. In fact if batman was gay then maybe people wouldn't treat it like such a big deal. People get KILLED over being gay and we JOKE about it. 😥

Word of advice. I told my girlfriend when we started dating (2 and a half years and still going strong) that this was fun for me and I enjoy it. She asked why since it was a card game. I told her, straight up, "because it gives me a chance to be creative and interact with my friends". She understood that and said she wanted to learn. I couldn't help but feel like she did it for me bc she knew it was part of me. But I made her a deck and now she is always invited to "guys night" aka needing out in my basement with my friends.

My suggestion. Maybe make her a deck. Get her involved. Show her that it is important to you and you want to share it with her. They want to feel involved. Even if they don't find it as fascinating as you do. Believe me, my girlfriend took me on a tour of MetLife stadium (giants stadium in NJ) , I know she isn't as crazy about football as I am. But she enjoyed it nonetheless.

It's your choice, but I wouldn't be impressed with someone giving me conditions for dating like that.  If you're expected to drop hobbies for your partner, what else is she going to have you do?  "No, I don't want you to hang out with that guy anymore." "I think you should wear this sweater." "Join the military or I'll leave you."

If you consider Magic as a part of who you are (I know I do), then she should be willing to accept you for who you are, not ask you to change.  Does she want to spend every waking minute with you?

FWIW, it's never even been a negotiable for me.  I play Magic, deal with it.

You're Batman, you wear tights and slide down poles.  You spend a whole lot of money on accessories, including a belt.  You hang out with a minor (who also wears tights) who's first name is Dick.  I have no problem with gays (I have a some friends who are gay), but how much more homo-erotic can a super-powerless superhero be?

BTW, I AM IRONMAN!

Sagemaster

I'd like to be the hulk if that's all cool?

BlackJester

Correction:  I am Tony Stark.  Iron Man's just a suit, Stark is a rich, brilliant, robotics engineer, and thus MY IDOL!

Sagemaster

So that makes Bruce Banner....HULK SMASH METAL SUIT!!!!! 😜😜😜😡😡😡😡😡😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

If it comes down to a real (or even hypothetical) decision between her and the game it should be an easy call. If you're serious about her then let go of the game. If not, do her the courtesy of letting her know your priorities. If the room is too crowded with hobbies and relationships you are going to have to choose one or the other. Which one do you want the most?

cltrn81

My wife gave me the same ultimatum.  I told her that I enjoy this game and I could not let it go.......now mind you I did not tell her until a couple days later when things settled down.  I explained to her the importance of the game and I promised that I would tone it down a bit....hence the reason I have not been on here too much.  I tried numerous times to teach her the game but she will have no part of it.  I don't really have an answer for you bud other than telling you that ppl go through these things and you guys have to find a happy median through compromise and sacrifice from both sides.

Elitehalo360

gf told me it was me or the game, im now single and okay with it cause i mean if you cant accept me for me and my hobbies then your not worth my time.

I love when the forums turn into daytime television. No joke.

I'm also still laughing about the angles joke.
