Episode 8 of Legavy weapon went live today, and it is a digestible introduction and analysis of the old "who is the Beatdown" game strategy theory, specialized for Legacy and for people new to the concept.

This is a shorter episode, and the first focusing on a specific, narrow strategy topic. Let me know what you think! Feedback is appreciated, but even better is keeping us in mind for anyone you know who is curious about getting into/getting better at the (best) format.

Side topic. And thanks to the people who gave feedback a while back on our audio. Since episode 3 we got new microphones, and I'm happy to give any microphone advice to anyone looking into getting one.

Glad you both like it! Feedback questions and requests are always appreciated.

Also, I'm doing a push to get our show more "out there". As always, if you know anyone who is curious about starting in legacy, please refer them to us as I like to help those people and they are our primary target demographic.

Also, if you feel like it, giving us a review/rating on ITunes is apparently important for shows? I don't know how and it feels super tacky to ask, but if you are so inclined, that would be cool of you.

And stay tuned! Next epaiode we have Alex from Masters of Modern podcast on as our first guest!

Love that podcast too! I'll definitely leave a rating, and I've shown a couple friends the podcast already. A friend and I listened to miracles deck tech while driving to an fnm.

I've added a rating and review (well, more of a remark, my review writing skills are poor). You can do so through the main subscription page of the podcast. (When you search for it).
I also went ahead and dropped the link in a couple of FaceBook groups I follow.
Not usually my style, but you guys deserve it.

Thanks to both of you! It's not usually my style to mention things like that, but apparently it's a big deal. Many podcasts I otherwise love and respect do it on the air, but I don't want to take up air time with it.

I still wouldn't ask, but we lost the majority of our listeners when we took our hiatus, so I know the listeners are out there and just need to find us again. :)

True. I listen to quite a few Commander podcasts, and an older one actually starts with a list every show: "give us a five star rating, review, tell your friends, etc". I like the show enough to forgive them, but yeah, it's a thing. Enough ratings lead to more listeners it seems, though I tend to judge for myself.

And, more on topic, I got to listen to episodes 7 & 8 today (turned out I missed a release, shame on me). #7 didn't contain that much "new" for me, yet was still very interesting. #8 was great. It happens to be very applicable to, mostly, my Duels experience. My decks could use some more "Control" options to become more consistent. I'm very Beatdown all the time, which leads to problems when coming across someone who actually takes the controlling role.
With no possible interaction from my side, I'm picked apart, leading to an overall win rate PvP of about 1 in 4. (Based on the fact I got to a cumulative rank of 24 while winning 100 games.)
Goes to show, what's relevant in legacy is mostly relevant in other formats.

True. Who Is The Beatdown is a classic analysis for every format. Arguably it's even more important in formats like limited or standard, where more decks are midrange, but it's also a lot less useful since you don't know opponents decks as well in limited/standard....hard to guess who has inevitability if you get to late game.

I can't remember whether we discussed it, but my deck of elves is the Beatdown...3/4 of the time, and my main deck is streamlined for that role...but my sideboard is almost entirely cards to go as hard as I can control in the fewest cards. Discard. Abrupt decay. Pithing needle. Sylvan Library. Choke.
