Ok so I am maybe brining in {tyramet the murder King}  to stop a bad matchup, but I hate having a SB card against just one deck. What matchups would you want him in your list for?

It is a GY and creature deck, so assume tyramet is at his best.

Ieatfood7

Note, I say he is at his best, but it is not a combo engine or designed around him. He would be a one of, and just wondering if there are any other matchups (besides lantern) where I would want him.

Mattao19

He's not even that good vs lantern ... They have needle and relics

Ieatfood7

I'm not scared of relic. Needle is an issue...hmm....that's the problem, any answer I have at all, they have a recurring answer for, given time. I don't want to have to side in 6+ artifact hate spells, trying to get creative. Main board I have no real needle targets, so unless we are top 8 and he knows my list, he will maybe side those out.

I wouldn't want Tymaret in the binder next to my modern deck

Ieatfood7

Lol. Fair enough. He is great in the one matchup, in my deck. I would hate to use a SB slot for a card I would only bring in against one semi-fringe deck.

Just run ancient grudges
Good idea is good. Can even be flashed back if you mill it.

Maybe I am worried to much but in running the matchup through my head, it doesn't look like my 1-3 ancient grudges will be enough. To much redundancy and recursion.

I can up that to 3-4 without hurting other matchups much (I need affinity help anyway) but I feel like there must be a more reliable answer.

This deck is the fringest of fringe decks sure it just won a GP but it's not popular enough to worry about it yet

Mr_Fahrenheit

I bring in {hurkyl's recall} against just one deck all the time. If it shores up a bad matchup that you expect to come up against then it shouldnt matter.
