Hey quick question. If I wanted to {fling} a buffed up {kiln fiend}, would that count as an extra +3/+0?

Nope. You sacrifice the fiend as part of the cost of the spell. This all happens right when you cast it, so little Kilny is too dead to see the spell cast. 💀😢
It's a shame, everytime I use this in one of my decks a single tear rolls down my cheek.

Damn. That would be so cool though. Thanks for the quick response though. I am building a "fling" deck. Should be alot of fun. Any suggestions? It's gunna be white and red with some archer type creatures for taking down opponents attacking creatures.

BlackJester

{Immolating Souleater} FTW. 👍

Top heavy creatures are good, {Lightning Elemental} types. {Ball lightning}.

Quackmaster5

Thanks for the advice. I was gunna make the centerpiece {brion stoutarm} and put in some elementals like you said. Plus some gobbys that sac for good damage like those {mudbutton torchrunners} I've been trying to find a use for. Lol. 😝😝

I use {flings} and {kiln fiends} in a B/R deck with {deaths shadow} and phyrexian mana.

Daniel hates that deck, apparently from what I've heard. I love getting out some {spark elemental}s, swingin' and flingin'!

JaCe BeLeReN

Yea it killed the {moltensteel dragon} deck a couple of times

Now with {deaths shadow}, since Jester said that sacing and flinging was instantaneous, would deaths shadow return to a 13/13 bc the static ability would wear off? Or is that the power based on my life when I fling?

Fenster

Since it doesnt go on the stack it gets
-x/-x as soon as it hits the battlefield and thus there is no time to respond with anything.
Edit: I missread but it uses whatever power it had when sacrificed i believe.

BlackJester

The static ability will change it while it's in play. There's no timing associated with it, when it's in play it gets -x/-x. {Fling} checks the power right before it got sac'ed.

Quackmaster5

Got it, so deaths shadow is only good with lower life? Last resort fling?

Fenster

I guess you can see it that way. Or let a souleater munch on you, fling, then fling {DEATH!!!!}

Actually, since you mention it, the {Death} side of Life//Death would be good with {Death's Shadow}. 💀

Thats actually pretty wicked. Especially under {Fling} circumstances...
