Draven is one of the most entertaining and fun champions IMO. He was going to be my main man adc before I discovered my love for Vayne Crank.

I can consistently keep axes going in lane and got pretty good at it in team fights. An 800+ damage crit +shiv is just amazing. He's nuts. Also Stand Aside is one of my favourite cc abilities.

His passive is so great, and gives you a /real/ reason to flame about ks.

I'm just exceptionally bad at utilizing blood rush.

I love stand aside, and blood rush is something I got used to using more and more in fights and escaping.  Now I just need to use it when getting places.  It was funny, there was a really good vayne that game against us, and that player was the best out of that whole team (next would be their Swain 😤) and eventually I just targeted her in teamfights, because she is pretty squishy.  There was also a fizz that would not. Stop. KS-ing early game.  Afterwards I dealt enough damage and knew when to back up and stay in fights so I would either burst enemies before he could land his Q and such, or survive longer than him.  Also, my hatred for Swain has intensified today.

Vayne is a wet paper bag. That can kill you in seconds. She's so squishy but she can kite for days. I kited a Master Yi all the way down the new howling abyss, he tower dived and died promptly after. The change to tumble might make CDR + trinity force a thing. Imma try it.

Swain is annoying but he's squishy and needs to land skill shots to do anything. He's bearable compared to some other mid lanes. I'll talk about that later.

KSing is a disaster when you're playing Draven. I've chewed out a lot of team mates so they understand. Fizz is almost as bad as Katarina, but she at least has an excuse (resets). (I played her in ARAM today. So fun.)

Knowing the ins and outs of a champion is so important. Your burst is the key. Draven's burst is insane, but his damage is all axes. I'm glad to hear you've started to master him.

IMO the two most detrimental champions are LeBlanc and Cho'Gath.

LeBlanc can 100-0 you with boots, 0 counter play and stupid escapes. They recently nerfed her and she's still nearly impossible to deal with. She's not a no skill champ, but she is just stupid.

Cho'Gath. Cc, wave clear, insane sustain, stupidly tanky. The problem with Cho'Gath is you can do nothing, play really badly, and still be have a huge impact on the game and be virtually unkillable. AND HE DOES DAMAGE WITH CC! He is a no skill champion with low risk and high reward. He's a disaster to lane against as he does nothing and wins lane.

FlickerYourOwnIdentity

Yeah cho gath is not only my least favorite champ to lane against, but one of my least favorite champs in general.
I'm far from mastering Draven, working on him, but I got awhile before I can become efficient with him.  He just seems so slow when you have two axes out, so the distance always seems so far away when two are out.  Do you space your attacks out in order to catch both, or am I gonna need to grab those movement speed masteries

FlickerYourOwnIdentity

Swains just annoying because while his ult is up, he tends to not be as squishy, because of that AOE hp drain.  Especially in teamfights.

So what do we all think of the new HUD? Personally I kinda hate it. I understand it takes time to get used to new things, but everything is so cramped and hard to read. It also feels like Riot is just screwing over longtime players who've mastered the skill of picking up information quickly an easily from the old HUD. If they only changed the visuals and not the positioning, that would be one thing, but this is crazy.

FlickerYourOwnIdentity

While the new hud is visually appealing and it makes good changes, such as the positioning of your teams champions above the minimap, and dead enemy champs above those champions.  But it does seem all around more cramped and crowded in certain places.  Maybe people will get used to it in time, but it is a little odd as of now

LinkCelestrial

I feel like it's better. It does contain more information (teammate ult and summoner cool downs) and has more important information easily visible. My complaint is the score is tucked in the minimap. Kinda hard to see.

LinkCelestrial

So, Gangplank is dead.

redwolv

Yeah i saw that. Kinda fuuny.

As I missed the draven discussion i want to add my two cents. Or in my opinion three cents.

Try trinity force on Draven. Cause catching an Ax refreshs his W as long as you have mana you can trigger the spellblade effect. And nearly none(just the ap) of the stats are wasted on on him. the spellblade effect doubles his already powerful attacks. I have one shot some squishy charcters. Plus the phage effect helps in aiding in catching axes and chasing foes.

My normal build is

B greaves - bloodthirster- trinity- infinity edge- phantom/shiv-

Depending on situation
penetration bow(tanks building armor)
black cleaver (no true tank but armor being build(curse you thorn mail)
G angel (good assassins)

If i finish six items i sell my boots for a zepher for the damage boost/tenacity. Without lossing much movement speed.

LinkCelestrial

I've gotta try that. Sounds amazing.

1000+ damage crits are dam amazing.

I've been broadening my horizons on champions, trying to play a lot, while going back to certain ones to practice them more.  (Currently the ones going back to are Lulu Support, and Draven ADC)

So I picked up LeBlanc, Nocturne, and Jayce because they were on sale, and I think I found my new favorite jungler until I get more mastery points and rune pages for others.  And that's nocturne.  He has fast clear, relatively good sustain (not enough masteries and runes to properly capitalize on it yet) and he's a great ganker.  I've just been having trouble determining my jungle route.  I usually start Krugs, then Red buff, and after that, I'm not sure if I should go to wolves or raptors.  I always thought raptors, but as I'm seeing more and more playthroughs, more people are going to wolves.  Then after that, I usually grab gromp and blue buff.  And repeat.  The problem is I haven't been able to properly sustain like, I'd want to.  It seems that I can survive after I clear Raptors, and then I have to go back.  And not only that, I've seen people get hard leashes for Red buff, which also seemed smart.  But I wasn't sure.

I also played a couple LeBlanc games, and the first one went horribly.  I went up against Victor in both games.  So, I was more of a matter of, can I avoid his laser and stun, and can he avoid my chain leash, and put up shield properly.  First game, our team lost miserably, but the second game went wonderfully.  Probably because I got more used to the W, and his laser.  But the team performed better overall which was nice.

I'm not playing Jayce yet.  Although he seems good, I'm gonna hold off on him for now.

Overall the day went well, and I'm thinking about adding nocturne into one of the champions, I'll return to every now and then.

Now what do you all think of Syndra?  She was always someone, I wanted to learn how to play, but I also am a little hesitant because of the positioning issue of her dark spheres.  Do you think I should get her, or is it not worth it?

LinkCelestrial

She's a really fun champion. There's all sorts of janky things you can do with her throw.

I played her when she was on rotation, really fun. Rewarding to play well.
