     {hardened scales}
T2: island
     {sage of the hours}
T3: {solidarity of heroes} on sage

It works like this, right? Target sage with solidarity, heroic stacks, yielding 2 counters with scales. Solidarity then resolves on a creature with now 2 counters, adding 2+1 with scales, for a total of 5. Remove, take turn, profits.
Everything legit?
