Pauper Mono Black

my playgroup recently decided to start doing pauper EDH which I thought seemed really fun and interesting.. But I don't know what's good or what wild common cards are surprisingly ok.

My first deck is going to be  {Shriekmaw} As my commander, what other ideas are out there?

Love PDH, I've been trying to get my friends to play it. Cool cards for black include: {Disfigure}, {Victim of Night}, {Crypt Rats}, {Gray Merchant of Asphodel}, {Phyrexian Rager}, {Liliana's Specter},  {Ashes to Ashes}, {Disturbed Burial}, {Evincar's Justice}, {Syphon Mind}, {Unnerve}, {Urborg Uprising}, {Death Denied}, and {Crypt Incursion}.

Other people are recognising it and it's great. {Blaze Commando} is the best general.
For your deck, {Murder} surprised it wasn't mentioned. Also play things like {Sign In Blood} and {Altar's Reap}

The answer is always {sigil captain}. There is no denying it. Splash green and white and get rid of the black for sigil captain.

{Ajani's Pridemate} voltron can be pretty brutal and {Phalanx Leader} can out of hand

Nope. The commander only needs to be an uncommon.
