The KMC Hyper MAT and the KMC mat sleeves are entirely different. Honestly, the KMC regular mat sleeves are not that good.

As for KMC being 80 count, it doesn't bother me that much. I'll still buy extra sleeves as long as I get the benefits I want out of them

What I've always said:
Dragonshields for EDH and KMCs for competitive events.

Dragonshields come in packs of 100 and are damn near indestructible.  I've only one break on me, and it wasn't even me shuffling them.  However, the cut can sometimes be uneven, making me wary of using them at a competitive level.  KMC is nearly as durable and usually cut perfectly, make them my sleeve of choice for higher levels of play.
My thoughts exactly. I use both, KMC for competitive decks, Shields for EDH.

The cheaper ultra pro ones fit fine in Dragon shields too. (I honestly can't tell the difference btwn the two)

Problem with ultra pros are some don't fit right. But for the price you can chuck the bad ones.
