I suppose Avatar if Slaughter isn't necessary. I like it, giving my vigilant commander double strike seems really good, but 8 mana and the downside if giving all my opponents' creatures double strike, too... Yeah, I think I can make that cut. Many thanks!

I do like {Pyromancer's Gauntlet} but I'm a bit put off by it's mana cost of 5 and it doing nothing until I cast an instant or sorcery. I'm not sure I can fit it in. Maybe if I can make another cut, but I still need one more cut and I don't see anything I'd want the gauntlet more than.

The swiftfoot boots I need to keep - hexproof keeps my crazy effect guys safe, and the haste is possibly even more important.

Actually, the reasons I like Tokky too much to cut are:
- He increases damage from all red sources (not just instants/sorceries), so he makes Tahngarth, Hidetsugu, Inferno Titan, Pyrohemia... All creatures and activated abilities become much more potent!
- He has protection from red, so I don't have to worry about him while I'm hurling around Earthquakes. He can even even sneak in an attack for 3 after a fiery board wipe!
- With all the {Furnace of Rath} type effects, those pings can easily turn from 1's to 4's or more, and that's a big deal!
- Seriously, look at that little gobbie face. So freakin cute! With his little rock on a stick, what a little troublemaker!

Bump - this has been driving me batty for a month now. I need a single cut and I can start acquiring the cards to finish this deck, but can't decide which one to cut. I think I have it narrowed down to one of these three:

• a {mountain}. Is 33 lands viable? I mean, it's a mono colored deck after all, but still, I worry about cutting another land.
• {Slagwurm Armor}. It helps my non-flying creatures survive the earthquakes, so I do want it... But is it worth the slot?
• {Strandwalker}. My answer to flying, mostly... 4 toughness is helpful for surviving earthquake effects as well. But it is mana-costly. Do I just say "screw it, flyers will just hit me," and cut this situational equipment?

My vote goes to {Slagwurm Armor}. +0/+6 is not burning the world. {Strandwalker} is keep cause flying is annoying. Land is keep cause mana screw sucks.
