With morph being soiled in khans, I have a few questions about the mechanic.

1. If someone plays a card face down as a 2/2 for the 3 mana morph cost, how do you know if its really a morph card or not?

2. I assume creatures do not get summoning sickness from flipping.

3. Can you look at your own face down morph cards?

I can answer questions 2 and 3 and am looking stuff about 1

2. It's still the same permanent, so, like the Innistrad block flip cards, it won't get summoning sickness.

3. Yes, you can look at your own morph cards.

707.9. If a face-down permanent moves from the battlefield to any other zone, its owner must reveal it to all players as he or she moves it. If a face-down spell moves from the stack to any zone other than the battlefield, its owner must reveal it to all players as he or she moves it. At the end of each game, all face-down permanents and spells must be revealed to all players.

There are dire penalties in tournaments for not revealing any morph cards that are still in "morph form" when the game ends. I was personally distraught when I heard that Morph was returning... The only thing that helps is saying to myself, "Come on, Doug. At least it's not Horsemanship."

At least it isnt banding

As the guy who do does most of the judge calls at FNM at my lgs, I'm really not looking forward to morph. Just because I know how much I'm going to get called called for people not revealing a morph card after a game (probably by mistake, without thinking) and then I'm going to have to make someone real unhappy by ruling.

I still don't get why everyone thinks banding is so hard to understand

Just print the rule out and have it by the sign up sheet!

You can also check if they are cheating using {Spy Network} ;)

Another thing to remember: as of right now, morphing doesn't use the stack. So if someone wants to turn their thing face up, you can't respond. Morph is so weird, but I expect that it will get some rule changes when it gets reprinted, kind of like how convoke changed slightly.

The only morph card I've messed around with is akroma. When I have, I've announced that I was playing her for her morph cost. What I'm getting from this is that's not necessary? Just say you're playing a face down card and it's a 2/2 or 3/3 or whatever?

They are always 2/2 when face down
You pay {3} to put it in
The morph cost is to flip her over

People cheat by putting a land or a spell down "morphed" hoping their opponent does do something to find out they are cheating.

Seems kinda lame to do that for a 2/2. Lol. Does the player just announce that they are playing it face down as a 2/2 though? There's no need to spoil what it is? I'm just trying to understand if there's an element of surprise to it. If so, that makes it more interesting.

That is correct. You just pay the 3 mana and place it face down on the stack, waiting to resolve. You do not announce what it is.
