I understand where your going with the deck but I can explain why I built the deck the way I did. First I did make a change to the deck. I cut 1 souls, 1 bobo, and 1 pox for 3 grisly salvage for early mill. The reason I played thragtusk was because it pushes the decks into the late game. Your talking about making the deck faster but the way I wanted the deck to run was by pushing into the late game. With a full 4 rites and the thrags it's easy to power through to the late game with the massive life games and the tokens. The deck may be a combo deck but like twin it doesn't have to be. The later the game goes the better the deck does because unlike most combo decks this one takes a long time to set up. That being the case the deck has to be resilient. So I tried to build like that.
Good point, I'm trying to make it more consistant. I'm trying to cut down on the 1 thragtusk, 1 Unburial rites, 1 bor, 4 lands kind of hand. I guess I could try thragtusk again, but I feel like there is a lot of matchups where he does nothing:

Storm: nothing
soul sisters: chump
Control: exile or counter
Jund: just gets tempoed out

I just feel like building up all this stuff, and trying to assemble a combo, and dig for cards just to get a thragtusk feels weak, I'm looking for cards that impact the board or win games;)

Modify: I feel like worm harvest is a much more powerful late game then thragtusk

Storm is a horrible matchup
Soul sisters it keeps your life total high till you can combo
Control it is a hard to remove threat unless they have a path
Jund is a bad matchup but thrag can trade with goyf which is really good

I do like worm harvest. I played it back when I had red in the deck but it sucked back then. It may be better now but it doesn't do anything souls can't do which is why I was against playing it. I will try it out though.

I'm still leaning towards the thrag but I haven't had much time to test it out like you have. It may just be that we play it different too. I feel like it's the best out to leyline of sanctity though. The only thing that might be better is knight of reliquary which is out of my budget.
