Chasm skulker deck

I liked the new card chasm skulker from the moment I saw it and this is a deck I built around it.  Playtesting shows it works fine most of the time, but I would appreciate any feedback and help refining the deck.  I'm planning on using this deck is some FNM tounraments soon so i'll post the results on here if anyone cares

I love the card as well (building a bant deck where {Ajani, mentor of heroes} throws counters on him) but back to your deck...I'm suggesting a few changes but don't take offense...I love your deck...just putting my input in :)

I would have more thassas for unblockable when skulker is large...I would also add more ordeals of thassa and take out military intelligence...more hero's downfall and at least 1 if not 2 {jace's ingenuity}

Just some ideas :)

Thanks for the suggestions and don't worry, no offence taken.  Thassa isn't in the deck for her ability, she's mostly for scry and blocking.  I don't have a problem with killing all the defenders before sinking chasm as it aloows me a chance to build up other skulkers, but if I run into a few more thassa's I'll put them in.  I'm planning on waiting for khans to come out before buying any more killspells, but I will.  Jace's ingenuity is actually not as helpful, there are other things I want to do with the mana besides put it in reserve for a instant.  Replacing military intelligence... I'm still torn on that one.  It's helped me before and I have creatures out usualy but it also comes out uselessly a lot.  I might trade it out for font of fortunes.

I see your point with thassa and jace's draw...I still recommend more ordeal of thassa...if your skulker has two counters when you cast it you get to add three counters and draw two cards for two mana...and if he doesn't have counters yet it helps ensure you get your value out of it...again...just my thoughts :)

Well I like your thoughts.  I will add a ordeal of thassa, but I don't think i'll take out military intelligence.  It works well with the little squid and I can usually attack with chasm skulker and another creature such as {prognostic sphinx}.  I think taking out {rescue from the underworld} would be better.

It wouldn't help skulker thou as jace doesn't "draw" any cards :/

I considered all three of the current Jace's and discarded all of them as unhelpful to the basic strategy.  Jace, Memory Adept would actually be more helpful, but too expensive mana-wise to b useful.  As an added disadvantage, all the good Jaces are rotating, and so I am discouraged to buy them.

I don't think I will run Bant, I like my killspells and maggots too much, pluss the whip has saved me on many occasions. I have been considering splashing in green, but I am unsure of how I might accomplish this without adding too much money and securing the mana base.  I have yet to make a functional tri-color deck, and I am not sure what would be useful, other than {back to nature} and {ajani, mentor of heroes}.

{Give//take} is a great suggestion, I would add it if it wasn't rotating.  As it is, I'll keep an eye out for a copy of two to run until rotation.
