How was your pre-release?

So I picked {R} and then I got lucky and pulled 2 {goblin rabblemaster} from my packs.  I did ok with a {R}\{G} tempo deck.  I got 10th out of 25 players and missed the price pool by 2 places.  I really did not get any money cards but I met some new people at my new LGS since I just moved.  All in all it was a fun day yesterday.  I followed up the evening by taking my kids to a gokart track.....off subject but like I said.....all in all a good day

I had literally the best prerelease ever.

I pulled a garruk and a foil nissa in the same pack. Needless to say, golgari was my choice. 5-1

Went 5-0 with 2 spirit bonds, 3 {Raise the Alarm}, a scuttling doom engine, and a buttload of ways to pump my team. Pulled a foil chain veil from my prize packs but that's aboot it.

I has crap pulls in a 2hg match, but did manage to pull Chandra, while my partner pulled jace.

Also 1 guy in the match opened his pre release box and had 8 packs in it!  2 seeded, 6 normal.. He put 1 seeded and 1 normal to the side.

Pulled Garruk and Doom Engine. Ended up going 3-1 into the top 8, then getting second.
Lost first to a guy who went black and pulled an extra demon, Ob Nixilis, Urborg, and some other stuff.

What were the good commons I should keep an eye out for?

{Raise the Alarm} is my current favourite. But tbh I haven't played at a release yet so don't take my word. But RTA is just a great value card and remember INSTANT speed

I went 3-1 with rackdos got 8 packs, only good card was 1 urborg but I'm fine with it xD

Placed 7th with an average GB deck with two Yisan and a Scuttling Doom Engine (the MVP). Only valuables pulled was Urborg from prizes and Chain Veil.

Went green pulled 2 rare land and no bombs went 2-2 with a gr build then went black pulled 1 rare land a lily and went 1-3 with bw life deck which had no bombs either.

Pulled Garruk, necromancers stock pile and Avacyn.

Went GB initially, then went UW due to Gb being so weak with my pulls and having no real bombs for limited.

Basically after looking at the pulls: I should've gone rainbow..

Is it just me or did the whole set feel kind of disconnected and incoherent? I wasn't exactly a huge fan of the battle-cruiser limited that was Theros block, but I think it at least had more synergy than M15. M15 feels like a pile of cards that Wizards said, "sure, let's call this a set." Is it usually like this? I didn't think M13 was horrible and M14 was good for me: just draft slivers.

Well I feel beaters are not well distributed, red has the best removal it seems with lightning strikes and convoke 4dmg. Most black demons can be bolted. Even Avacyn can die to the convoke 4 dmg spell.

I went with GB without any beaters in my pull and it was sad after T7
