guys and gals, i here different opinions on this and i want to know what y'all think.  in my opinion {gideon champion of justice} is much better than {gideon jura}.  why do you think that jura is more expensive, and also why you think one is better than the other.

In my opinion, {Gideon, Champion of Justice} is the better of the two. His ultimate is crazy good; 0 ability can be greater than a 6/6 indestructible. Even his +1 can add more than one loyalty counter/turn. I would suspect that {Gideon Jura} has a slightly higher value comes from him being an older card; tad more difficult to acquire. Any one else is thoughts on this?

Champion of justice is just awful.  If your opponent has that many creatures in play that you are taking advantage of his +1 then most likely you are in trouble anyway.  Jura is way better.....just team him up with {Gideon's law keeper} and have fun

{Gideon, Champion of Justice} for sure. I played a multiplayer game against him and it took three players like five turns to shut him down. Nobody wants that -15 to go off and he's a HUGE health distraction. The reason he's not expensive is that he lacks combo power. That's what I was told but then I saw {Legion's Initiative}. Exile all your creatures. Exile EVERYTHING your opponents controls then your creatures show up to attack your opponent. Who has nothing to block with, and no mana.

i need that card for my deck but anyways with {rest in peace} all the cards stay dead and it is a pretty deadly combo

{Rest in Peace} has no interaction with anything mentioned - both Gideon and Legions exile cards.

I hate  {Gideon, Champion of Justice}, but  {Gideon Jura}. I'll give you reasons.

Jura is a billion times more flexible. +2 takes pressure off of you, can mess with opponents strategy. -2 just synergies with it and regardless is just good. 0 provides a fantastic body.

Champion of justice however, is just an absurd card. +1 is limited to creature heavy decks to have any sort of impact, only used to make his 0 and reach his -15. And IMO, his -15 sucks. A proper Magic player should see the inevitable and be able to prepare to recover board state when it goes off. It doesn't really give it's controller a massive advantage. Or an advantage at all. His best ability is his 0, which really only works well in accordance with his +1, making him super slow. I kick his butt all day in my playgroup.

+1 to Cltrn for being the only one to agree with me thus far lol

Here's why Jura is better.

Jura is a Modern finisher in many UWr or straight UW control lists.

Whereas Champ of Just. is not played in standard ...

Jura is just a sensational finisher that is very strong!! Champ. is just awful

Was hoping for a Jura reprint. He's so good for control it's absurd. Really don't care for Champion of Justice, for the reasons mentioned above.

You mean the reason that he sucks ass? Lol XD

Chargingswadger

Even though I did first place an rtr draft with Gideon. It was a weird deck....
3 centaur healers and two call of the conclaves? And a collective blessing. And alive and well. It was pretty much centaur life gain with Gideon.

guessing Champion of Justice? Well that's draft, not constructed play. Mythic = good in draft in almost every scenario. Except for maybe  {Epic Experiment}
