Most insane EDH deck you've ever played against

I'll start

He had all the original duels, {TimeTwister} FOW, foil {Jace}. {Chains of Mephistopheles} and a ton of other stuff like that. It was 5 colour control and almost the entire deck (that could be) was in foil. It tore through everything and it was ridiculously awesome. He's been playing since alpha and he's just been picking up these things over the years.

I played against  {Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts}. My uncle threw the deck together in a bit over an hour and claimed that it was "terrible". My WIP {Niv Mizzet, Dracogenius} deck got owned. We played four player and his extort kept him ahead of the pack the whole game. I immediately gunned for him knowing that if {Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts} hit the table my dad's creature heavy {Polukranos, World Eater} deck and my cousin's {Grenzo, Dungeon Warden} deck wouldn't be much help. Apparently they didn't see the threat until it hit the table. Then my cousin foolishly destroyed {Dismiss Into Dream} meaning that my best efforts to keep {Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts} off the table failed. In the end it boiled down to the two of us and my burn/draw just couldn't match his life gain and creature control. He ended just under starting life (38ish). B/W is hella hard to beat multi, and it's always disheartening to see a thrown together deck mop the floor with something you've been working on for an extend period of time. My uncle and cousin are coming over again this weekend and I hope he's switched commanders. :P

I went up against an azami deck that was so fast. Ultimate at turn 4-5. Could draw everything and plenty of mana to cast anything. Was bull

The guy that owns my lgs has two undefeateds, one for multiplayer and one for 1v1. Multiplayer is  {Prime Speaker Zegana} and often time manages to  {Avenger of Zendikar} to birthing pod for  {Craterhoof Behemoth} or something else absurd. And the 1v1 is just silly. It's  {Wydwen, the Biting Gale} and literally every counterspell that will function in the deck. He manages getting 21 commander everytime.

Although I haven't played against to many insane decks I have played against a  {Phenax, God of Deception} deck where the guy milled about 60 cards in one turn and a pimped kaalia deck that blows people out in 5 turns consistently

i feel like I see {tooth and nail} into {avenger of zendikar} and {craterhoof behemoth} so often playing edh these days. wish i could never see it again.

I have seen some insane  {Momir Vig, Simic Visionary} decks that just go infinite or poop their decks on turn 5 or 6 it's gross. My captian sisay deck is pretty insane. Never looses 1 v 1 except to the kaalia nuts draw. And almost always plays archenemy and wins in multiplayer depending on the number of opponents

Define 'Insane'.  At the store I go to out at School, we have a a player that basically fits the description in the opening post.  He's been playing since the start, and the first time I saw him playing EDH, I saw at least three Black-bordered Dual lands on his battlefield and a Beta Sol Ring sitting in his hand.  The last time I played with him, he was talking about how he 'took out most of the value'.  He was playing with Unlimited.

Anyways, the most 'insane' from a gameplay perspective was actually just being taken completely by surprise by the efficiency of a deck.  On Monday, we sat down for an EDH game, myself, two friends and a guy that's been in the shop for a while but hadn't played much EDH.  He sat down with an {Ob Nixilis, the Fallen} and an unsleeved deck.  And, honestly, he had such a good draw that he Blitzed two players down before we actually realized what was happening.  It was awesome.

I haven't seen anything too crazy in terms of card value, but one of my friends had a hand with his {ghave, guru of spores deck} that included a {gaea's cradle} and {craterhoof behemoth} that resulted in him attacking for 862 damage of turn 6. It was pretty cool.

Btw {tooth and nail} into {avenger of zendikar} and {craterhoof behemothb} is not that strong of a play unless you have a way to give them all haste, but that seems unlikely if you're not playing red...just saying

Munchlax

Well there's always {Concordant crossroads}....
But back to the topic play wise the best deck I've seen is mono black control. The last time we played it was a group of eight and he killed everyone t5 with a Gary dealing 45 damage to everyone on the table

Not if those are the only creatures you have out. If you have 2-3 other creatures, they'll all be +14/+14 or so. Seems pretty good.

In 1v1? Cause in multiplayer there's no way kaalia is killing everyone on the table consistently by turn four.

AdamS

ya i only play 1v1 because my lgs closed last summer so i dont get to play unless its at a friends house
