This isn't very protuctive. People will begin to not even use karma. It's a system I never really liked to be honest and I believe there are better ways to do what karma is set up to do. But this isn't the way to change it.
Not everyone is equel here. Some people are new/unknown. Some people contribute a lot through the rules or deck helps. Some people are very insightful in arguments and others just got it through being trusted through trades. You should have a system that rewards those behaviors.
What is the true point of making everyone seem equel? Was karma hoarding truly that big an issue?
This just seems poorly thought out and if you really wanted to make a change to the system for it to be more fair then ask the community their thoughts on it. Get opinions on new systems or tweeks to the current one. Don't ruin your PO even more by just changing everything without a word. Make people feel as they are welcome in the matters that you can.
You've basically made the people who've been here, put in the time, acted right feel as it was pointless. Encourage that behavior.
