My brother has a {Tetravus} (4e), I was looking it up on the database to check rulings, and there is an extra paragraph for the card that isn't printed on the card. Is this a misprint, or did they makers not have enough room? Not sure how to approach this question, it's never been the case before.

with older cards they tend to update the text a lot. some cards require even more text to accomplish what the cards were trying to do.

So do we go off of what's on the card or what's in the database?

whats on the card doesnt matter. the oracle text on gatherer.com has the official text for all cards.
