If a creature with undying dies, then us brought back with a +1/+1 counter placed onto it. Then the counter is removed by some means can the creature come back into play? I'm asking due to a debate based on the {mikaeus the unhallowed} {triskelion}/{workhorse} infinite combo. I'm under the impression that thus can cause and infinite loop. With either infinite dmg or mana. What are the specific rulings?

Can't find the specific ruling but this comes from the wizards website

When your undying creature with no +1/+1 counters on it dies, you'll return it to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it. An undying creature that has one or more +1/+1 counters on it when it dies stays in the graveyard as normal.

It doesn't matter where the +1/+1 counters came from, or whether a creature has already come back with a counter on it; all that matters is where the counters are when it dies. If your undying creature gets a +1/+1 counter on it (say, from Travel Preparations) and then dies, it won't come back, even if that's the first time it died. On the flip side, if you can get that +1/+1 counter off of an undying creature somehow after it comes back, it'll come back yet again the next time it dies. Undying indeed!

It works fine.  Undying only cares that the creature didn't have the counter on it when it died.  It doesn't care at all about if it came back with Undying before.

Also, the Workhorse one doesn't work unless you can kill it in some way, since Mikaeus gives it toughness to survive when t doesn't have counters.

I would be using a sac outlet to recycle {workhorse}. I'm using it in a mikaeus EDH deck

Why can't you just remove all the counters, so he'll die as a 0/0?

Mikaeus gives other non-human creatures you control +1/+1.
