pay life problems

if i cast {Phyrexian Processor} and opponent {Counterspell}s it, do i still have to pay life? or do not since countered?

You do not because it is an ETB trigger. It never actually touches the battlefield as it's countered while on the stack. Worse case sacrifice 0 life.....

it depends if its an additional cost to the spell vs an effect of the spell resolving. consider the spells {hatred} vs {thoughtseize}. even if hatred is countered, you still had to pay life to cast the spell. however, if thoughtseize is countered, you wont lose two life since that is part of the spells resolution.

It'd be better to {Disperse} it, they still lose life to put it out, but to put it out again, they must pay more life.
