Awesome. I have a modern human build for mono black. Downsides are flying and enchantments and artifacts of other players..

True, I'm forgetting a part of the combo, it's in my friends EDH and it works the way I described it I'm realizing now he had something else to it that I can't remember

Even without the loop(I'll figure it out eventually) you still have cheap reusable removal, say you have six mana open, you use the staff 3 times and kill three creatures, three inspired triggers go on the stack and you get to exile three more creatures and create 3 gold tokens that can be sacced for three more mana. Effectively allowing you to kill six creatures with 3 mana. And with that token you just made you could sac them and keep it going for a few more creatures if you wanted to. It's very effective either way.
