Chimera

Friend has {Perplexing Chimera} on the field with 2 other creatures, I cast an instant (can't remember name) but it says something like "target creature gains {T}:return target nonland permanent to it's owners hand." Question is, can he switch the control of it with chimera, put it on his creature and {T} his creature to return the chimera to his hand?

I usually deal with 4 chimeras and 4 blue curses that copy instants/sorceries. It's a pain

I love {Surpreme Verdict} and a disk (I can never spell the first name correctly, it's something like Nerthyrrals or something. 4 colorless to put out, comes in tapped, 1 colorless + tap & sac, board wipe. They come in quite handy.
